Sony Interactive Entertainment revealed the PS5 Accessibility controller's UI and new images. The gaming company already introduced this new technology, dubbed Project Leonardo, at the recent CES 2023 in January. 

However, not many details were shared during the event. Sony finally provided a more in-depth report about its PS5 Project Leonardo. 

If you are among the interested consumers, here are the latest details shared by Sony Interactive Entertainment. 

PS5 Accessibility Controller's UI, New Images Revealed! 

Via its official blog post, Sony said that May is always the month when Global Accessibility Awareness Day is celebrated. 

The company added that this is the time when the efforts of video game firms to make gaming more inclusive are recognized. 

Sony's latest effort is to offer new details, including the first look at Project Leonardo's UI (user interface). 

Sony also officially named the PS5 Project Leonardo as the "Access controller."
When it comes to the specifical details, Sony provided all the inclusions of the new PS5 Access controller: 

  • Swappable button cap tags for players to easily mark which inputs they map to each button. 
  • Button caps in different shapes and sizes, such as the following: 
    • Pillow button caps
    • Flat button caps
    • Wide flat button cap (which covers two button sockets)
    • Overhang button caps (which benefit players with smaller hands as they are positioned closer to the center)
    • Curve button caps (which can be pushed if placed along the top or pulled if placed along the bottom of the controller)
  • Analog stick caps (Standard, dome, and ball stick caps).

PS5 Access Controller's UI 

Sony Interactive Entertainment also ensured that gamers would understand the Access Controller's UI. 

To do this, the gaming company listed down the UI settings and configurations of the new device: 

  • Controller pairing and analog stick adjustments (can be used to connect up to Access controllers and one DualSense controller) 
  • Toggle mode (Allows gamers to adjust the activities of any button) 
  • Button mapping & control profiles (can be used to select preferred orientations)
