Hasselblad has just dropped a new firmware update for its X2D medium format mirrorless camera. The 2.0.0 firmware update reportedly comes with new features and some enhancements to its usability.

New Firmware Update 2.0.0 for the Hasselblad X2D Camera

According to Peta Pixel, the new updates come with capability upgrades that would give an advanced user experience to owners. The X2D 100C firmware 2.0.0 reportedly packs 15 distinct updates, each with its existing improvements.

The firmware update reportedly adds new features or improves existing ones within the device. So far, it was noted that eight new features have been added, with seven features being enhanced.

New Features Include Focus Bracketing and Additional Stabilization Abilities

The new features include focus bracketing, which consists of a Picker Tool allowing photographers to set their white balance manually. Owners can also use the focus peaking to get a manual focus assist as part of the update.

The update includes users' ability to switch from horizontal to vertical and vice versa. The Hasselblad camera still has the stabilization option found in the Stabilization Mode settings.

Another new feature includes the camera crop mode, which allows users to choose from multiple cropping ratios.

Users Also Get Advanced Crop Mode and Can Mask the Opacity of Their Captures

In the Crop Mode Setting, users will also be able to mask the opacity of their captures. Users will also get a histogram overlay in Live View, which can be activated with a self-timer.

In addition, users can tap the touch screen to engage autofocus in the camera. The activation of this feature can be done through the Focus setting.

Firmware Update Allows Switching From Nine to 25 View Mode Within Browser

Other firmware update features include the ability of users to switch from the nine to 25 view mode within the browser. That makes it easier for them to scan through images by batch instead of looking at them individually.

Aside from that, the Hasselblad X2D 100C will also allow players to tap and hold the image or even delete an entire batch. They can also delete multiple images by holding a photo to engage and then picking it out through the set.

Owners Can Download the Firmware Update from the Official Hasselblad Website

It was reported that the X2D 100C would also allow its photographers to set the color temperature and the tint manually through Live View. That would then improve the light metering performance by a significant 3EV.

The improvement would reportedly be noticeable during "weak lighting conditions." The company noted that most of the improvement comes from its work on optimizing the overall focusing performance.

Fans can reportedly get the firmware update 2.0.0 on the Hasselblad website. So far, fans can check out the changes on a video uploaded by key2adventure on YouTube, showing a quick look at the firmware 2.0.0.
