The Apple WWDC 2023 Keynote address by its executives unveiled many developments to its company. Still, new hardware stole the show, especially with the Vision Pro, which Tim Cook revealed at the last minute. The mixed-reality headset of the company finally took form, and while it was not named the "Reality Pro," it still turned out to be something that appeased the public awaiting it.

First, Apple calls the Vision Pro its "spatial computer," it is not only a device that would emulate games from a smartphone or computer but a wearable that could do it all for the user. Thanks to its augmented reality feature (AR), it features a three-dimensional user interface and allows users to launch different apps and experiences with its virtual reality (VR).

Its ultra-high-definition resolution display features 23 million pixels in both displays, paired with a custom Apple silicon dual-chip design that powers the device. Vision Pro runs via the visionOS that brings everything a user needs and interacts with them.

As a mixed-reality device, it can allow users to experience everything with a touch, immersing themselves in their surroundings or using apps across the interface.

The Vision Pro is coming early next year, 2024, for the US-only launch and will come later next year for the rest of the world.

Moreover, it is a premium offering from Apple priced at $3,499.

The device has a minimum age requirement for its use which is rated for 13 years old and above users only but does not exactly say how it will restrict adolescents who will use it.

Prescription glasses may be limited, as a magnetic Zeiss lens will be the only one to fit on the device, or not wear them at all.

Apple's AR/VR Headset

Many have speculated the mixed-reality headset from Apple, which combines both augmented and virtual reality in one device. Different leakers have their claims, but one stood out similarly from each of them, and this is Apple launching the device by WWDC 2023, despite the event not being mainly for hardware releases.

When speculating for this year's WWDC, Kuo was also slightly skeptical of its release due to the hardware delays, but he got a massive thing right: the device is not yet available this year.

The Vision Pro is Apple's first take on the AR/VR headset that brings the best of both worlds, with a heavy focus on augmented reality, centering on the premium features offered. At $3,499, the Vision Pro is a hefty device to own, but with Apple's development, the public will soon know if it is worth the price tag and bring an overall experience for all wearable needs.
