OpenAI's ChatGPT app, which hit the App Store less than a month ago, is getting a major update packed with exciting new features. Today, the app welcomes native iPad support, and that brings tablet users to enjoy the AI chatbot with a fully optimized experience.

The update also introduces integration with Siri and Shortcuts, empowering users to seamlessly incorporate ChatGPT into their voice commands and create personalized shortcuts for smoother interactions.

iPad users can now use ChatGPT after less than a month of debuting in the App Store. The AI chatbot comes with Siri and Shortcuts support.

According to GSM Arena, the iOS version of ChatGPT on iPad is now operable in full-screen mode. Aside from that, the chatbot gets a drag-and-drop feature which means there will be no problem in transferring your messages from ChatGPT to another app.

This handy functionality is particularly useful when using split-screen mode on the iPad. You can now pose questions to ChatGPT in one window and effortlessly drag its responses to another.

Even before ChatGPT's launch, users anticipate that the UI for the iPad version will be more appealing compared to the desktop version. With these enhancements, the updated app is expected to attract new downloads, building upon its initial success when it quickly gained half a million installs within a week and soared to the top of the App Store charts.

Siri Integration and Shortcuts

Since almost all Apple devices are integrated with Siri, it's a no-brainer that ChatGPT will also adopt the same functionality. According to TechCrunch, the integration does not entirely replace the AI assistant, but users can freely make shortcuts that work well with it.

For example, you can turn your frequently used prompts into shortcuts and customize them to perform additional actions after receiving a response, such as saving the information to another app. Additionally, you can now use Siri's voice commands to open ChatGPT effortlessly.

Just like the iPhone version of ChatGPT, iPad users can opt for a monthly Plus subscription at $20. This premium service will grant them revamped access to ChatGPT, ensuring uninterrupted usage even during peak times, faster response times, and priority access to upcoming features and improvements.

Is ChatGPT Android Coming Soon?

The same report by TechCrunch says that the Android version of OpenAI's chatbot is expected to arrive sooner. So far, the company is expanding its reach to cater to the needs of more users outside the US, including the UK, New Zealand, Germany, Nigeria, and more.

The Rise of ChatGPT in the App Store

Everyone knew that ChatGPT would blow the market upon its launch in the App Store. Unsurprisingly, it dominates the Top Free charts in the US, making it the most popular app with an average 4.8 rating from 421,000 reviews. It already has more than 7.3 installations worldwide and this is only on the iOS platform.

Beware of Fake ChatGPT Apps

Along with its rapid demand,  some developers want to compete with ChatGPT by releasing its clone versions in the App Store. The Cupertino giant said that those who submit the apps on the platform are on the verge of getting kicked out from the Apple Developer Program.

It's indeed alarming to see these fake apps flocking everywhere. We never know if they are safe to download since they could potentially carry malware that can further put the users in jeopardy.
