If you're in the market for a remote team of software engineers from the emerging market of Latin America, then Webstarted has your solutions.

Long before the pandemic forced millions to pivot to remote work, Webstarted was launched to help U.S. tech firms support their operations with what at the time was something of a novel approach. But now that remote teams are typical components of companies, Webstarted is taking advantage of the ground it has been covering since launching in 2019.

Webstarted maintains a database of 46,000 software engineer candidates, 93 percent of whom are based in Latin America. Also, the company is turning to AI as it builds on its core mission of helping U.S. tech firms build out remote teams of software engineers.

Webstarted works extensively with venture capital firms, and the majority of its U.S. clients are startups taken on during any funding series. With support for startups taking shape in many ways, including advisory work, you can think of Webstarted as the startup for startups, so to speak.

Webstarted has worked with many startups, in fields that include eCommerce, marketplace, fintech, environmental, Web3, and education. Examples of Webstarted's ability to deliver include its 100% IT fulfillment rate for Hodinkee, a NYC site focused on luxury watches; and the placing of 15 full-time engineers at Sellry, an eCommerce design and development agency.

Paramount to Webstarted clients making the most of their experience is the rigorous selection process that startups undergo.

Along with an application review, interviews and due diligence, there are less rigid but no more emphatic factors that play just as heavily into this part of the process.

Webstarted looks for specific characteristics in startup founders, including passion, resilience, leadership skills and the ability to adapt to challenges. Regarding the startup team, Webstarted places a premium on diverse skill sets, domain knowledge and complementary talents.

As far as the startup itself, the Webstarted team learns all it can as far as  market demand, scalability, competitive advantage and potential for growth are concerned.

Innovation, a unique value proposition and differentiation are all critical factors in Webstarted determining the potential of working with a possible client.

In addition, Webstarted tries to focus on StartUps that offer:

-Agile interview process

-Long term projects

-With 100% remote jobs

What about the startup's traction and milestones? How about customer acquisition, revenue growth, product development and partnerships? As part of its review of potential clients, Webstarted also considers the importance of matching startups with the appropriate support and connections.

Suffice to say that Webstarted leaves no stone unturned when it comes to screening startups.

And this comprehensive approach reflects the overall philosophy that drives everything Webstarted CEO Javier Caruso does.

In addition to linking tech companies and remote teams, Webstarted can maintain a firm's operational services, which allows clients to focus on big-picture objectives rather than the nuts-and-bolts logistics of launching a company. These services include:

  • Recruiting

  • Hiring

  • Administration

  • Paperwork

  • Screening

  • NDAs

  • Hardware/software

  • Billing

Additional Webstarted products that allow startups to focus on their products and services include:

  • WebstartedHR, which allows companies, candidates, recruiters and agencies to collaborate as they generate structure for a client's vision. WebstartedHR allows companies to pivot quickly, then scale up as needed.

  • Webstarted Academy, a training space for junior talent and recruiters.

  • Webstarted Gifts, a service layer to promote retention in companies.

Javier's experience with technology runs deep. He studied computer programming in primary school and later taught it. In the mid-1990s, he began developing web pages as widespread use of the internet took hold.

After working for a range of companies and serving as a manager and director, Javier signed a contract with a company that allowed him to work remotely. The concept at the time was simply unheard of.

But Javier built up a resource of contacts and colleagues began asking him to recommend remote software developers. He switched to the recruitment aspect of remote work full-time and in 2019 launched Webstarted.
