For those faithful to the lore of "Baldur's Gate," a new prequel has been launched, showing gamers certain events leading up to the new "Baldur's Gate 3." This comes in the form of a murder mystery prequel, giving players a more puzzle-feel to the otherwise RPG title.

The Game is Set 15 Years Before 'Baldur's Gate 3' Takes Place

The new dynamic would switch things up and allow players to experience the lore like never before through online murder mystery. The events of this particular prequel were said to have happened way before "Baldur's Gate 3" took place.

According to the story by Eurogamer, Developer Larian Studios has just launched a new ARG website known as Blood in Baldur's Gate. It was noted that the events taking place on the website were set way before what happened in "Baldur's Gate 3," specifically 15 years before that.

To play the game, all gamers have to do is head over to the Blood in Baldur's Gate website and click "Play the Game." To start, players will be given a video intro to the story, where they can choose to skip or learn more about the events surrounding the title.

Video Tutorial Gives Players an Idea of What Happened as They Try to Conclude Where the Murder Happened

After the video, players will be given a slight tutorial, where their main goal is to discover where a murder took place. To do this, players would have to vote for a location, but before so, it's important to understand the full scope of the story.

If fans accidentally skip the video and want to go back to it, they can check out the intro once again on YouTube. The intro might contain critical pieces of information that could help players come to a deduction of what happens in Blood in Baldur's Gate.

As detailed by Eurogamer, the new title is a murder mystery game where players have to come to a conclusion as to who killed an elf. The game would take place on Baldur's Gate's lower map, where players can visit and investigate.

Game Gives Players Voting Power on Which Location to Explore Next

The game also provides a way for players to become better acquainted with the world of "Baldur's Gate." It was noted that every day, players are given voting power as to where they should head over next.

Depending on the votes, a new location would be made available, and the game gets weekly updates. Larian notes that the game will be up and running for the span of the next three weeks.
