A new study showed that Nintendo players are more intelligent than other gamers who play on competing consoles. In the recent study based on the vocabulary used by gamers across each gaming subreddit conducted by the sports betting site OddsSeeker, it revealed that Nintendo gamers are the most intelligent.
New Study Investigates 5 Consoles to See Which Gamers Are the Smartest
According to Go Nintendo, the study included players in five consoles, namely the Nintendo, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox One. Of the five, it was found that Nintendo gamers were the smartest, while Xbox One gamers were at the bottom of the list.
The OddsSeeker collected data from 25 popular gaming subreddits and analyzed the players' vocabulary, sentiment, and profanity use. Around 366,904 Reddit posts from the past year were examined to learn more about the characteristics of video game fans.
The final results showed that Nintendo fans came out on top with 22,216 unique words used. Among the games, the study showed that "League of Legends" players are the smartest, using the most unique words in their online forum at 32,020.
The study also found that the "Grand Theft Auto V" gaming community used the fewest unique words at 13,496.
New Study Brings Issues on Console Wars That Have Been Ongoing for Decades
Console wars have been ongoing for decades, and this study brings some actual scientific proof of who is the most intelligent among video gamers. The study measured the "intelligence" of the groups based on the vocabulary used for specific gaming subreddit.
Subreddit With the Least Profanity Was 'Animal Crossing'
The study also ranked which subreddits were considered the "most toxic and profane." Nintendo scored the lowest in these categories, with only 23% of "Super Smash Bros." posts being negative, but "Animal Crossing" came in last with only 14% negative posts.
Nintendo and its games' communities also placed relatively low for the amount of profanity used. Go Nintendo warns that although the study is an interesting piece of research that gives people a closer look into the overall characteristics of gamers throughout different platforms and titles, it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Another Study Found That PC Gamers Were the Smartest
Another study by the Canadian online casino Royal Panda compared the intelligence of the average gamer on different platforms and games, Early Game reported.
Based on the final findings, the study found that PC users have the highest average IQ at 112.3. PlayStation players followed at 110.7, Xbox at 103.8, Nintendo Switch at 101.3, and Mobile gamers lagged behind with 99.4.
The final results also showed that "Rainbow 6 Siege" was the game with the most intelligent players. However, GameRant noted that the result was problematic as mobile gaming is a global phenomenon.
