Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg is more than ready even before the launch of Threads, the app that he believes will kill Twitter soon.

With everything set between him and Elon Musk, especially since they agreed to fight in a cage match, Zuckerberg threw a light-hearted meme featuring two Spiderman pointing at each other.

There's no context whatsoever, but people think that it's just the start of their rivalry in the tech industry.

(Photo: Annie Spratt from Unsplash) Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg takes on Twitter with a funny meme about his rivalry with Elon Musk.

Zuckerberg, who had been inactive on Twitter since 2012, returned to the platform with the launch of Threads, sharing the Spider-Man meme without any captions.

As spotted by CBS News, the meme effectively conveys the competitive nature of Threads' entry into the social media space, making it clear that the app is a direct competitor to Twitter.

The Threads app draws inspiration from the successful elements of Instagram, offering users a fresh and engaging experience for sharing text-based content, ideas, and discussions.

To express his appreciation for the fans who are always there to support Meta and its products, Zuckerberg thanked the early adopters and vowed that Threads will showcase positivity across the community.

Threads is the New Twitter Killer

At first glance, you will immediately notice how Threads and Twitter look alike. They share the same functionalities as a social media platform, but of course, Threads has still limited features knowing that it's just on its first day.

Inside Threads, you can do everything you do on Twitter including commenting on your friend's posts, posting daily updates, liking their posts, and reposting their content.

"Whether you're a creator or a casual poster, Threads offers a new, separate space for real-time updates and public conversations...Our vision with Threads is to take what Instagram does best and expand that to text, creating a positive and creative space to express your ideas," Meta notes in its press release.

In another report by Reuters, some experts believe that Threads is off to a good start since it's built around the Instagram platform. Having said that, advertisers will likely follow the massive trend in the upcoming updates.

Influx on Current Threads Users

Within a few hours after it was launched, Threads has already recorded more than 10 million sign-ups from various users all over the world.

It's still a work in progress for the Meta boss, but he hopes that it can compete better than Twitter when it comes to attracting users.

As of December 2022, the monthly users on Twitter sit at around 368 million. However, a Statista report indicates that this number will go down by 5% by next year.
