There are two options to get started. One is the DIY Edition which only comes as a built computer but does not have an operating system to boot from. It is worth $1,399 and is equipped with AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS.

On the other hand, the pre-built one already contains the Windows operating system upon purchase. It has an AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS and is worth $1,699.

However, both versions will only arrive with integrated graphics. If users want a more upgraded experience with the AMD Radeon RX 7700S Graphics Module with 8GB of GDDR6, they would have to pay $1,799 or $2,099 for the pre-built option.

Should You Buy the Framework Laptop 16?

Users can still configure and customize their computers before the purchase to ensure that what they get is tailored to their initial needs. The Laptop 16 with 165Hz screen refresh rate is still highly modular. Other changes may come soon after.

If you need an easily-repairable and highly-customizable laptop, Framework's Laptop 16 is an ideal candidate for the job. Considering that it has gaming capabilities, it would be enough for medium to heavy loads.

Framework's Devices and Developments

In 2021, during Framework's early days in the tech industry, the company introduced the Laptop 13, initially centering on a small portable PC with a modular design. Since then, this has been the focus of Framework, best known for being the brainchild of former Oculus VR co-founder Nirav Patel.

Since then, Framework has been a significant name in the industry for its powerful computers and reduces waste when replacing certain parts. Moreover, it is highly customizable, with easily accessible components that beginners may work on and get started with replacements or mods.

However, Framework did not only center on creating its tech but also have parts easily available for other technologies, including the SSD for Valve Steam Deck and the Microsoft Surface.

The next-gen computer from Framework will soon be introduced to the world, with a 16-inch screen, AMD's Ryzen processor, and an optional Radeon graphics card.

Apart from its notable specs, the computer remains with its modular design, meaning that it would be easily torn down and rebuilt, with Framework bringing guides and instructions along the way.
