One of the latest changes to X now was spotted by reports, showing how it sorts the account's post based on the like counts of the overall profile of the person or business. It remains unknown why this is the way posts are sorted on X, and this comes amidst the many new things on the app which its owner and the team have recently revamped.

Logging Out of X Will Show Your Posts Sorted via Likes

9to5 Google now reports the latest change on X, and this is with logged-out accounts or not having any profile logged in via the platform showing a user's post sorted via its likes. This is an entirely new take on X's accounts and profiles, especially as it did not share posts like this before.

It is expected that viewing a profile on X would give users a chronological order of the said account, but what it shows now is based on the likes a specific post garnered in the past. It will be sorted from highest to lowest, with the top of the page showcasing the most liked post despite its date.

Venturing over to Elon Musk's profile on the platform when logged out would give users his tweet about buying Coca-Cola and putting in an illegal drug to be the top post, one that has fetched 4.5 million likes on the platform.

The top five tweets on Musk's profile all came from 2022, and there is no way of seeing the most recent post if not logged in.

New Posts Sorting Method Remains Unknown

It remains unknown why X decided to turn the sorting of posts on the platform in this way, especially as there are no sound reasons for doing so.

However, it clearly shows that users can no longer access an account and see the latest tweets or sorted in chronological order for the time being.

X's Many Changes to Twitter

Back in June when X was still called Twitter, one of the sweeping changes here has prevented people from stalking their favorite online personalities or viewing the social media without an account. When logged out or using X despite not being a user, it no longer allowed people to view tweets and content from profiles, directing them to the login page.

However, this issue is still persistent in some cases, especially if one is stalking a profile that is not a public account.

Apart from the name and logo change on the platform, there are promises to bring the Everything app to life by adding a new video chat integration to the platform, as revealed by its CEO, Linda Yaccarino.

Elon Musk also claimed before that X will be on dark mode by default as it is easier for the eyes, to no longer offer its iconic white and blue colors as part of the change.

Now, being able to access X without an account would either prevent users from seeing its content or lead them to seeing posts that are sorted via like counts, which is somehow confusing for those looking to view what is new with the profile.
