The social media that is currently in transition, X (also known as Twitter), was recently revealed to only have Dark Mode as its theme, and it would be available on default soon. This was revealed earlier by its owner, Elon Musk, and in his words, it would be the only available theme for the platform which means the world is soon saying goodbye to the light mode.

It seems like Twitter is losing its iconic colors too, the white and blue, after bidding farewell to Larry the Bird, the social media platform's logo and mascot since its beginnings.

Speculations by Twitter user, Doge Designer, on what should be the color of the verification checkmark on X, the new platform from Musk, has started a chain reaction that revealed the new theme of social media.

They said that they like the black checkmark better, but would not look "good" in dark mode.

Here, the platform owner and X proprietor, Elon Musk, replied and said that the platform will soon only feature the "dark mode" theme. He further adds that dark mode is "better in every way," talking about how it bodes against the light mode.

Despite this, Musk did not reveal what X's official themes or colors would be, but judging from the logo, it may only be black and white, with the darker one being predominant.

Goodbye Light Mode, says Elon Musk

As per the platform owner's statement, X or Twitter would only have the dark mode available to use, and this would be turned on by default, probably having no options to change it.

While many users prefer the dark mode for their use, there are still some that either turn on Light Mode occasionally or use their device's varying display themes depending on the time.

Twitter and X's Many Changes

When Elon Musk introduced X, it was only called the "Everything App," and it confused the world as to what exactly it can do and why it was being teased from time to time. The massive plans for X have been in motion since Chief Tweet was first planning to buy Twitter, citing that this will be the start of his dream platform.

It also came as a sudden change as first people were only seeing Musk's exchanges with fans about the X app, and then they saw a concept of the fan-made logo from Sawyer Merrit, a user the owner is known to frequently talk to. Soon after, there were talks about this change, and finally, the ball dropped on the platform which dropped the iconic bird logo.

While most of the elements on Twitter remain as it was like the "Tweet" button, its domain remains the same, and well, most people still call it by its original name.

However, it is gradually turning into what Elon Musk wants, with X, the everything app, now beginning to morph the social media, especially with its monochromatic colors which will soon be the only choice.
