Fanatec has slashed the price of its Podium Wheel Base DD1 by $200. There is also a bundle deal that comes with interesting add-ons for gamers who love to play top-tier racing titles.

Fanatec Podium Wheel Base DD1 Comes With Up to 20Nm of Torque, Making It Different From Other Driving Wheels

According to Traxion, the Fanatec Podium Wheel Base DD1 is expected to be one of the originators for allowing users to experience what it feels like directly behind the wheel. The driving wheel expects to offer 20Nm of torque.

It was also reported that the driving wheel comes a little more than the buyers could expect from an entry-level direct drive sim racing device. Buyers can easily see the difference between the Fanatec Podium Wheel Base DD1 and other models like the CSL DD and the Gran Turismo DD Pro.

Both the CSL DD and Gran Turismo DD Pro have an output of 5Nm or 8Nm, with an optional boost kit. However, the Fanatec Podium Wheel Base DD1 is significantly larger and has a more expensive price.

But starting August 22, buyers can take advantage of the massive discount, which brings the price of the wheel base alone from $1,199.95 to just under a grand at $999.95. That means buyers can now purchase the gaming gadget for $200 off its original listing.

The Driving Wheel Bundle Is Compatible With the PC and Xbox Compatible Base

The deal also comes with a bundle option, wherein buyers can purchase the PC and Xbox compatible base. The Podium Racing Wheel F1, which is compatible with the PlayStation consoles, has reportedly been canceled and is no longer being sold in the market.

Fans can also learn more about the racing wheel by visiting the Sim Race Reviews website. A bundle deal that includes the PC and Xbox compatible base, a Clubsport Steering Wheel Formula V2.5 X, and the Podium Advanced Paddle Module is now being offered at a lower price. 

This package is reportedly now at $280 off, bringing the price down from $1,579.86 to $1,299.95.

The Wheel Base Doesn't Come With the Paddle Add-On, Which Players Need to Purchase Separately

The gadgets included in the bundle are necessary for gamers who want to further enhance their gaming experience. The entry-level direct drive sim racing wheel was reported to be similar to a Formula 1-style set-up.

It was also reported that the paddle add-on would provide magnetic gear shifters with hall sensors for more real feedback. However, the pedals are not part of this particular bundle deal.

Gamers can reportedly get a Fanatec two-pedal set at under $100. Fanatec's latest price reduction follows the sale of the aforementioned CSL DD to just $199.95. However, gamers can avail of this lower price when they purchase this device with accessories.
