Equichat wants to empower investors.

The app's unique proposition, which combines investment tracking, market alerts, in-app trading, and social interaction into a single platform appeals to a wide demographic of investors, from beginners to day traders and seasoned professionals.

The app was born from the frustrations of having to juggle multiple finance apps.

Equichat's founder Ted DeMatties explains: "Essentially, if you're an investor these days, you're stuck switching between five, six, seven, sometimes eight different apps. You probably have a couple of brokers, like RobinHood and TD; you probably have a few stops to chat, whether it's Reddit or a Discord channel; and you probably have numerous research platforms that you use, like Yahoo Finance, MarketWatch, or TheStreet. Nothing's connected, nothing's integrated."

All of this inspired Ted and his team of U.S.-based developers to build Equichat, which is strategically positioned to fill a substantial gap in the disjointed social investing landscape.

"The idea behind this product was to take all those features that an investor needs and uses, and just put it into one single app," he said. "There's no more hassle trying to manage eight different apps or trading across multiple brokers. Equichat maintains a balance around all of this."

A few of the key features that Equichat offers are:

  • The ability for an investor to connect their E*Trade, TDAmeritrade, Robinhood, and Webull brokerage accounts to view each respective portfolio and place trades directly from the app.

  • A proprietary streaming newswire and notification system that alerts investors in real-time when stocks they own or follow issue news and headlines.

  • An open platform discussion for investors to discuss investment ideas and individual companies across more than 10,000 dedicated stock channels, along with user created channels to discuss different investing topics and trade ideas.

  • All the traditional investor bells and whistles that are found everywhere else, such as stock charts, market headlines, earnings calendar, custom watchlists, and more.

  • Social media features such as the ability to follow other investors, see their trades, send direct messages, and build personal profiles.

Asked why investors should put their faith in him, Ted said: "It's a scalable opportunity. I know how to monetize these types of products. I've been doing it for 15 years."

His initial goal is to build a large user base, then look to monetize the app by selling advertising to public issuers, IR firms, and digital marketing agencies.

"You start to benefit from economies of scale once you gain momentum," he said.

Equichat is available for download in the iOS App and Android Play stores. Registration to gain full access is completely free for investors. Visit equities.chat to learn more.
