It was recently confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1 is giving gamers early access to the title, extending as much as five days before the official release date which will help gamers get a grip on the upcoming game. This will center on Mortal Kombat 1's Premium Edition only, and lucky for those who have already pre-ordered or purchased this version of the revamp.

NetherRealm and WB Games have been positioning MK1 as the massive fighting game that will bring a refresh to the series, one that will change the Mortal Kombat experience for all.

As confirmed by Thetiny via X, Mortal Kombat 1 will bring early access for gamers to enjoy, but it will be centering on the Premium Edition owners only. The updates made to MK1's store listings on Steam and Xbox have confirmed this early access for gamers, giving as much as five days before the game drops in the market.

Previously, this early access was considered unbacked leaks from sources that have claimed this experience.

Additionally, Thetiny has also confirmed that Mortal Kombat 1's in-game currency would be called "Dragon Krystals," all meant to purchase customization items like skins, gears, and possibly taunts and brutalities in the game. This is similar to what it introduced before, the in-game currency from the previous game called Invasions Currency.

When Will MK1's Early Access Drop?

Its early access would begin five days earlier than its actual drop, which would be by September 14 (10 AM Pacific Time or 1 PM Eastern Time). The game is set to be available for gamers by September 19 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

There are no official announcements yet regarding this early access from NetherRealm or WB Games, and what it has to offer for Premium Edition owners.

Mortal Kombat 1

When Warner Bros. Games confirmed the next Mortal Kombat game, many gamers expected it to be a sequel title that will continue what Mortal Kombat 11 has brought the world in 2019. More than four years later, NetherRealm and WB Games surprised the world with a revamp of the series, confirming Mortal Kombat 1 for its next release, going back to its roots.

The mainstay characters of the franchise are expected to arrive for its initial roster, with the likes of Liu Kang, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Johnny Cage, Kenshi, Kitana, Raiden, Reptile, and more. However, it was previously leaked (and now confirmed) that the likes of Sindel and Li Mei are also joining the carnage.

While MK1 is focused on the revamp and roots of the game, some famed characters are joining it upon launch.

The massive excitement that has built up behind Mortal Kombat 1's massive refresh is expected to arrive this September 19 across all platforms that it would release to. But before that, Premium Edition owners will get a chance to enjoy the game five days earlier, with the festivities dropping by September 14, with the world set to hash it out in a Mortal Kombat against menacing opponents.
