Adobe is updating its Creative Cloud software through the integration of new generative artificial intelligence (AI) features, Reuters reports.

While this brings users a wave of innovation and creativity, it also includes some price adjustments.

Adobe's Latest AI Integration

Adobe's Creative Cloud suite, which includes popular tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, and Adobe Express, has long been the go-to choice for creative professionals. Now, it is getting a dose of AI-powered magic.

These AI features, powered by Adobe's Firefly technology, are designed to enhance creativity across multiple applications.

For instance, Photoshop and Illustrator users can harness AI to generate and expand images, while Illustrator offers Generative Recolor.

Adobe Express Premium takes it even further with Text to Image and Text Effects, making creativity more accessible and efficient than ever before.

Meanwhile, Firefly, a standalone web application, lets users explore AI-assisted creative expression. With the ability to generate images, apply styles or textures to text, and even recolor artwork.

The best part? Adobe assures us that all generated content is legally safe to use, alleviating concerns regarding content rights and royalties.

The Generative Credits System

One of the most significant changes comes in the form of Generative Credits. These tokens allow users to transform text prompts into stunning images and vector creations.

Initially available to paid Creative Cloud, Firefly, and Express users, these credits come bundled with your subscription, ensuring you can dive into AI-powered creativity.

Starting in November 2023, Adobe plans to offer subscription packs for purchasing extra Generative Credits. Even free users get a piece of the pie, with monthly Generative Credits and an opportunity to upgrade to a paid plan for just $4.99 a month. This pricing flexibility caters to users across all budgets and needs.

Pricing: What to Expect

Now, let us address the elephant in the room: pricing changes.

Adobe acknowledges the increased value and costs of these AI-driven features and the Creative Cloud.

Starting November 1, 2023, specific Creative Cloud plans will significantly increase, ranging from $2 to $5 per month. This price adjustment aims to ensure Adobe can continue providing cutting-edge technology and support to its user base.

Supporting Contributors and Artists

Adobe also recognizes the vital role artists and contributors play in its ecosystem.

To show appreciation, Adobe will issue a one-time "contributor" bonus to artists based on their contributions to Adobe's database and licensing from June 3, 2022, to June 3, 2023.

In addition to this one-time bonus, Adobe plans to continue supporting contributors by offering annual bonuses for their contributions to the training of AI systems.

With generative AI features now seamlessly integrated into Adobe's Creative Cloud suite, we are entering a new era of creativity.
