In a confirmation earlier today from reports, Apple has included a new feature to the iPhone 15 series' battery health, which would only charge the device up to 80 percent. With the new control for its charging, users no longer need to worry that it would be charging the smartphone's battery past its limit, especially in cases where one forgets it or keeps it plugged in overnight.

Overcharging is one way to deteriorate the battery of any device using it. With this new feature from the iPhone 15, Apple smartphone users get an extra "security blanket" for battery care.

MacRumors now confirmed that Apple added a battery health control to the iPhone 15 series, allowing users to set their preferences on how to charge their smartphones.

Instead of the Optimized Battery Charging feature that continues until it fully replenishes the power cell, there is now an option to keep it at 80 percent and stop charging.

This feature is also found on Samsung's smartphones, stopping any further charging for the battery despite plugging in the power connector.

New Battery Health Controls for the iPhone 15

According to The Verge's forum answer by Allison Johnson, there are now three options for iPhone 15 users to choose from in setting up their Battery preferences. This includes "Optimized Battery Charging," which is best known for charging the smartphone up to 80 percent and finishing it up to 100 when it is time to wake up.

Next is the 80% limit, which could only be found on the iPhone 15, and lastly, "None."

This makes up the Battery Health controls for the iPhone 15 now, a feature that previous iPhones would not see.
