As one of the most famous in the world, Apple is subject to many scams that sell fake or counterfeit products, and this has been a worry with the now-available iPhone 15, especially from third-party resellers. That being said, Apple went ahead of this and added a new layer of security that would help the world verify the technology and ensure the legitimacy of what a user buys.

On the surface, users would not immediately notice this new security verification method to know if the iPhone 15 is authentic, hidden away from the naked eye.

Renowned technology analyst and insider, Majin Bu, has shared a video they discovered via Weibo, the Chinese social media platform, regarding checking an iPhone 15 box to ensure it is not fake. In the box alone, users may know if the product sold to them is legitimate or counterfeit, using a UV light to show what Apple hid.

According to Majin Bu, this is a new "security system" from Apple, showing holograms that prove its mark of authenticity to the iPhone's box.

Moreover, this was Apple's new "measure" to "recognize real boxes" to avoid getting scammed when buying its new product, particularly with the iPhone 15 series.

Apple iPhone 15 Box: Users Can Verify its Legitimacy

It was reported that it would feature both holograms and QR codes on the top right and almost bottom right parts of the iPhone boxes, especially as most transactions would have users pay for it before opening the seal. However, some users feared that in a short time, there would already be counterfeit creations, adopting the mark of authenticity on fake iPhone 15 boxes.

For now, this is enough to ensure users and verify the product's legitimacy.

The Proliferation of Fake Apple Products

Over the years, there has been a growing problem of fake Apple products in the market, and many have taken a stand against this counterfeit proliferation online. It was discovered in 2021 that millions of illicit Apple devices were sold on Instagram and other online shops, with experts doing their best to remove this from the market and away from customers.

Some smugglers sell fake iPhone parts to customers, and not only does the fight against this protect Apple's intellectual property, but also for safety and security reasons.

While many technologies now, including that of Apple, are copied even to the last centimeter and have similar features that are passable, their safety and quality do not undergo checking.

For now, there are no massive cases of Apple's latest releases and technology being copied and sold to the public, but this is something to be vigilant about so as not to get scammed. The latest indicator for Apple now can be seen through the UV light, revealing the hidden mark of the package's legitimacy and authenticity, offering a security blanket to users.
