Humane is reportedly working on "AI Pin," a special wearable that uses cameras and projectors and acts as a disappearing computer.

The most common AI wearables that you have probably heard of are smart rings, but you might haven't heard yet about an "Ai Pin." With the use of advanced AI technology, projectors, and cameras, this device can be an instant AI assistant that you can use anywhere you go.

The geniuses behind this creation are former Apple executives who found the startup Humane. With its debut during the Fashion Week 2023 in Paris, there are many questions to ask how it works and what it can offer.

AI Pin Went Viral on Paris Fashion Week Runway

Recently, Humane made a striking debut at the Paris fashion show, Humane x Coperni, unveiling the Ai Pin in a captivating manner.

According to The Verge,  supermodel Naomi Campbell had the honor of being the first individual outside the company to wear this remarkable device in public, setting the stage for its full revelation on November 9, as proudly announced by the startup.

The Ai Pin is not your average wearable device; it is a "screenless, standalone device and software platform built from the ground up for AI."

This innovative creation is powered by an "advanced" Qualcomm Snapdragon platform and incorporates a mini-projector, which ingeniously substitutes the conventional smartphone screen. Additionally, the Ai Pin boasts a camera and speaker, making it a multifaceted AI companion.

Its capabilities include AI-powered optical recognition, all while emphasizing a "privacy-first" approach. A notable feature of this privacy-first approach is the absence of a wake word, eliminating any "always-on" listening mode.

Here's What AI Pin Can Do

Humane first teased the world with the Ai Pin's potential during a Ted Talk in May. Led by co-founder Imran Chaudhri, an Apple veteran with experience in designing the iPhone user interface. According to Engadget, the presentation offered a glimpse into a sci-fi-like future.

Chaudhri demonstrated the device's capacity to receive calls while projecting essential details onto one's hand. Moreover, he showcased its real-time English-to-French translation using AI, all in his own voice. Another noteworthy capability was "catch me up," a feature that provided a concise summary of news and important information.

Despite these demonstrations, certain aspects remain skeptical to some viewers. How the Ai Pin connects to the internet, given its independence from smartphone pairing, is one such mystery. Additionally, while its stylish nature is accentuated, as evidenced by its availability in both black and white, the device's practical benefits compared to a conventional smartphone are yet to be fully understood.

The camera stigma, often associated with wearable devices, is another challenge Humane may face, despite the intriguing mini-projector technology.
