Xbox Game Pass users rejoice, as the famed action role-playing game (RPG) Gotham Knights is now "free" to play. That means you can get to defend the dark, rainy, and crime-filled city without Batman.

The almost one-year-old game from WB Games Montreal is now seeing a new home over at Xbox Game Pass, leveraging it for its paid subscribers to access.

Despite the massive hype behind the game, Gotham Knights fetched mixed reviews after it was released last year, dividing the fan base as they expected quality like the Batman titles.

Gotham Knights Is Now Part of Xbox Game Pass

While certainly not the most popular Batman or DC game in the market, Gotham Knights has its appeal and unique offer to gamers in experiencing the action to protect Gotham City from its rogues.

According to ComicBook Gaming, the game is now accessible via Xbox Game Pass, with users reporting that they can freely access it here.

Xbox Wire, Microsoft's renowned channel for announcing everything about its console, has previously confirmed that Gotham Knights is coming to the Xbox Game Pass, particularly for the Cloud and PC, as well as the Xbox Series S and X.

Subscribers to the Xbox Game Pass could now download and play the game, considering they have an active membership.

Free-to-Play Gotham Knights via Subscription

Gotham Knights is free to play for Xbox Game Pass users at no additional cost. This game centers on Nightwing, Batgirl, Red Hood, and Robin taking on the reigns to protect and defend Gotham from the menacing forces around it, enacting their terror as Batman died, faithful to its comic source.

If you think about it, it really does not make Gotham Knights "free," given that a subscription service must be paid for.

Games in Xbox Game Pass

One of the main developments for the famed service for Microsoft is the migration of the Xbox Live Gold, forming a new tier on its platform called the Xbox Game Pass Core.

Live Gold is now gone, but before it bid its farewell, it offered the final free games from the service, namely the Blue Fire and Inertial Drift, which ended the service on a low note.

Among the many game streaming services in the market now, Xbox Game Pass is one of the top-regarded experiences because of the famous games it adds here.

One rumor centered on the arrival of the renowned Soul Calibur Remake to arrive on the Game Pass also speculated for a Soul Calibur collection, which still holds a massive fan base for the classic title.

Currently, Xbox Game Pass houses over 400 games in total, available for gamers to download and experience as long as they are subscribed to the service from Microsoft, still looking to add more in the future.

Gotham Knights is the latest to arrive on the Game Pass, leveraging the AAA-rated title from WB Games Montreal, featuring the DC Heroes defending Gotham City in Batman's wake.
