(Photo: Antonio Groß from Unsplash) Apple just launched an improved Apple Maps experience in Denmark and Greece, bringing the total number of covered locations to 35.

Apple Maps is expanding its coverage in two new countries as of Friday, Oct. 13. Cupertino firm is bringing the navigation app to Denmark and Greece this time.

All in all, there are a total number of 35 countries that can use the app.

Apple Maps Rolls Out to Greece and Denmark

Before we see the improved navigation in the Apple Maps app, it's somewhat vague to use at first since it lacks some features that navigators need.

Right now, the iPhone maker is bringing some enhancements to the app with custom-designed 3D models of landmarks and more detailed directions, per MacRumors.

Apple says that augmented reality now powers the turn-by-turn walking directions. Somehow, when you closely look at it, it quite resembles the usual Street View of Google.

Justin O'Beirne, an Apple Maps expert, says that this marks the 20th expansion of the company's mapping data that it built from the ground up.

"Now it's easier and more fun to map out trips and excursions, thanks to more accurate navigation, detailed bicycle directions, detailed views of roads, buildings, parks, and airports as well as three-dimensional sights [...]," Apple said in a press release. The post was written in Danish.

As per Apple's Senior VP of Services Eddy Cue, Apple has rebuilt the Maps app from scratch. Now, it is a seamless and reliable app that people can use to locate areas, places, and more.

Additionally, Cue said that the Cupertino titan now offers interesting features including natural language directions and Look Around, making it easier for people to go from point A to point B.

Improved Cycle Routing in Denmark

Danish Apple users can now use the enhanced cycle routing. This is suited for a country where cycling is considered as a common means of transportation.

According to 9to5Mac, the redesigned Apple Maps now features step-by-step directions for bicycles. These include routes that they will cross. The app will also tell them what are cycle-friendly roads for them.

Apart from that, this new experience also means that users can now see if the route that they will pass is prone to traffic or if it has traffic at the time.

It should be noted that they will also get informed about what roads to avoid especially if they are very steep.

So much for that, Apple Maps users in Denmark can view real-time information when searching for bicycle workshops or public toilets.

Meanwhile, pedestrian guidance is provided so people won't get lost on their way. It's powered by AR and it's easy to use if you have an iPhone.

Apple says that you can simply scan your surroundings and the Maps app will provide the directions you need to follow if you are unfamiliar with a particular area.

With the latest expansion to Denmark and Greece, Apple appears to show no signs of expanding the coverage of Maps.

As O'Beirne says, the new map data of Apple is now covering 11.8% of the world population, not to mention 20.3% of the land area on Earth across 35 countries.
