The Holiday season is coming, and Winter too, with Airbnb announcing its latest feature coming for hosts that will allow them to share the smart lock codes via the app to their guests who rented the place. With this latest feature, guests will face less hassle in getting access to their chosen lodging, also avoiding the need to secure a key or passcodes from mailboxes or other places, as instructed by the owner.

Apart from this latest feature, the homestay and renting platform also adds new updates and experiences for all, right in time for the upcoming festive season.

Airbnb is now adding a new feature for its US and Canada operations for hosts to share smart lock codes with guests via the app, and this would be made available via the Early Access program for said regions. This will allow for an improved experience for both parties, centering on easier access to a rented property via the app which uses smart locks on their doors.

The feature will be made available later this year, and the app will help connect the smart lock for guests to generate a unique code for each reservation.

It was also said that this said code will be activated only during the start of the check-in period, and will be deactivated upon check-out time. On its debut, it will support selected models from August, Schalge, and Yale.

The Airbnb 2023 Winter Update: What's New?

In the latest release from Airbnb, it brought a list of new features for all to enjoy as part of its 2023 Winter Release, centering on Guest Favorites that will offer a collection of 2 million "most-loved" properties on the app. It will base the list on ratings, reviews, and reliability says the company.

Airbnb is also offering a revamp of ratings and reviews that will help guests to better understand a home's quality, as well as a new Listings tab that will allow hosts to better manage their property and its details.

Airbnb and the Experience

Airbnb remains as one of the top-regarded property management apps in the market, and it offers a way for owners to put their listing on the map and get discovered, also centering on livelihood.

Last year, Airbnb added a new "Anti-Party Algorithm" that can detect possible rowdy events before they take place, especially as they can lead to damage to properties, as well as injuries to guests and visitors. It has been notorious where guests would book a property to rent but will use it for parties amidst certain events, holidays, and locations with the app capable of detecting it before it takes place.

For many years, Airbnb has been the destination when looking for an alternative lodging and rental experience for home-like stays or apartments, centering on cheaper and more accessible options apart from hotels. Now, Airbnb adds new features for both hosts and guests to relay smart lock codes faster, with other new features appearing on the app.
