There are massive preparations for Apple now centering on iOS 18, but that was recently set aside as the company is fixing bugs for the current OS. Nevertheless, it was regarded a renowned Apple analyst that it is set to be the most "ambitious and compelling" update coming for the Cupertino giant's iPhone series come next year, as expected from its annual release.
Next-gen operating systems see developments immediately, preparing for their future availability, with the iOS 18 slowly taking the grand stage as the best OS yet.

The latest Power On Newsletter from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman details what is coming in the future for the next-gen OS coming to the iPhone, the iOS 18, said to be the "most ambitious and compelling." This release will center on new experiences for the iPhones and iPads, for its counterpart, the iPadOS 18, looking to deliver an improved software update come next year.
Gurman further regarded that the iOS 18 will bring "major new features and designs" that will help bring enhancements to the Apple smartphone.
Apart from its new features and design, the analyst also claimed that it will get an improvement in its performance and security for better use.

iOS 18: Pausing Developments Now
It was earlier reported that Apple has paused developments for iOS 18 in the present because of its need to focus on iOS 17's current releases. It is centering on the various bug fixes and improvements it aims to deliver with the new iPhone OS, especially as it is facing significant concerns from users in the present version, but only for one week.
Apple's iOS 17 and Future OS
In almost all Apple events and developer's conferences, there are already speculations about what is coming next from the company, with massive speculations on missed out opportunities or upgrades for what it has to offer. Massive claims center on iOS 17 revamps back in WWDC 2023, and reports focused on the Control Center on iPhones seeing a redesign.
It is yet unknown which devices will the future OS drop when iOS 18 gets introduced to the public, as back in the iOS 17 update, the Cupertino company already announced the iPhone X, 8 series, and below to lose eligibility.
With the growing developments and features of the operating system, Apple is seeing more devices lose compatibility with newer software, especially as iOS 18 was said to bring the biggest.
One of the top priorities of Apple now is its future releases for both software and hardware, with the iPhone 16 already seeing massive rumors regarding what it can bring for users, including the iOS 18. For now, there is a pause in development for iOS 18 to focus on iOS 17's bugs, but this would not stop the upcoming operating system from being Apple's best release coming next year.
