Google's AI Integration will reportedly be more flexible for users, allowing them to choose a 'Classic Assistant' mode to turn off Google's 'Assistant with Bard.' Users can head to the Google app's settings to toggle the option when this rolls out.

The reason for this option is reportedly more than just for users' preference and personalization as not all of the existing Google assistant's features will operate in 'Assistant with Bard' and so, to obtain the whole intended experience, users will have to choose or switch between the two Assistants.

Bard, Google's AI chatbot can now link to your Gmail, Docs, and Drive as part of its new extension.

Assistant with Bard is intended to have many more features and is accessible via a simple shortcut on phones. According to Google, it blends Assistant's tailored assistance with Bard's generative reasoning skills, allowing users to communicate via voice, text, and pictures.

Google further stated that early testing for the new AI-driven experience will be available for a limited number of users who choose to participate, as Google seeks input initially.

These beta tests are expected, as per Android central, to commence before the end of the year.

This latest update comes from Android expert 'AssembleDebug' via a post made by the user on the social media platform 'X.' The post detailed how the present line of code indicates that users can switch to the old version of Assistant with limited features for both the 'Assistant with Bard' option and 'Classic Assistant' mode.

Google's AI Integration Plans

The rumored development follows Google's initial announcements of its ambitions for an AI-driven integration, stating 'Assistant with Bard' will be available on Android and iOS devices.

The same report states that Google hasn't provided any other details on when the integration will be available other than the announcement that it will be available in a few months.

As per the report, the last look at what Google is working on for 'Assistant with Bard' demonstrated how closely it mirrors what consumers encounter on the web.

Back in October, a Google app update revealed that users could use the Assistant-Bard integration to create emails, export files to Docs, and gain access to Bard extensions such as Hotels, Flights, YouTube, and more.

Thanks to the interface with Assistant, Bard will also be able to work with contextual information from your screen.

Google's Bard, AI on Pixel 8

During the Google Pixel 8 launch, Google revealed that its AI chatbot Bard would be integrated into its existing voice-based Assistant. Google's primary app code indicates it will be available to the newest Pixel 8 series before any others.

Google Assistant with Bard promises to bring creative AI to users' fingertips on their phones. Unlike its primary competition, ChatGPT, Bard does not have an Android app and is only available through a website, making it inconvenient to use on mobile.
