While robotic dogs like Spot by Boston Dynamics and Go1 by Unitree are not new, Interesting Engineering reported that BabyAlpha sets itself apart by building upon the success of its predecessor, the acclaimed AlphaDog robot.
The key innovation lies in a seemingly simple yet impactful addition, which are its ears. This enhancement is expected to play a pivotal role in reshaping perceptions and fostering a closer connection between humans and machines.
Weilan has committed its efforts to unveiling two groundbreaking technologies for BabyAlpha. This includes 'Always Alive' to enhance its vibrant intelligence, and 'AgentOS,' an advanced smart operating system.
These innovations mark the dawn of a new era in embodied intelligence, positioning BabyAlpha not just as a constant companion but as a being with complete intelligence in personality, hobbies, learning, growth, and emotional memory.
Additionally, BabyAlpha demonstrates a profound understanding of human speech, expressing empathy, yet intriguingly refrains from providing direct answers to inquiries.
Presently, the robot engages in conversations in both Chinese and English, and forthcoming updates aim to introduce support for multiple languages based on user demand.

BabyAlpha is equipped with the Baidu intelligent voice interaction solution, a feature that allows Weilan to incorporate advanced capabilities such as speech recognition, precise sound source positioning, and comprehensive content health detection technology.
Notably, this robot dog has the ability to transform into a video call interface, facilitating visual communication between parents and children when needed. Furthermore, it boasts the Touch To Go XR remote control technology.
The system is compatible with Bluetooth, WiFi, and 4G remote control. Through a lightweight fingertip remote control and a user-friendly app, BabyAlpha becomes conveniently manageable, fitting snugly in the palm of your hand.
Beyond its compact control, Gearrice reported that BabyAlpha showcases its indoor fully autonomous driving FSD 1.0, serving dual purposes as a home security guard and a source of autonomous indoor entertainment.

BabyAlpha seamlessly connects with a variety of smartphone and internet applications through plug-in technology and microservice architecture. Currently, it accommodates applications from Huawei AI, Alibaba AI, Tencent AI, Baidu AI, Shengwang audio, video series, and others.
Weilan has ambitious plans to broaden the spectrum of supported applications, content, and services, aiming to offer genuinely practical artificial intelligence experiences.
