One of the most anticipated features coming to Mortal Kombat 1 is the crossplay integration, and it is set to bring different platforms together and enjoy an all-out brawl. That being said, the initial announcement from the game talked about the 'Krossplay' integration only, but not when the feature would arrive, but thanks to a recent stream, there are hints of its arrival.

LOS ANGELES, CA - JUNE 12: A Mortal Kombat 11 trailer plays at E3 2019 at the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 12, 2019 in Los Angeles, California. The Electronic Entertainment Expo is billed as the largest gaming industry expo of the year.

In the recent live stream by Mortal Kombat 1, the team revealed the awaited arrival of crossplay, or "Krossplay" as how they call it, which is set for around February 2024 to eligible platforms.

As the company talked about Quan Chi, the latest character to join the renowned fighting game, they also mentioned the news regarding crossplay's integration for the game. This means that gamers who own the title will have a chance to access an online play that will match them with other platforms, and not only from those in their respective gaming devices.

Quan Chi is best known to be part of the Kombat Pack, the game's first DLC, and it centered on offering different characters dropped one by one.

What to Expect from MK1's Krossplay

It is important to note that while crossplay sounds like a universal integration for Mortal Kombat 1, it is not coming for all platforms where it was released.

Krossplay will only be available to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and the PC, meaning that Nintendo Switch gamers will be left out.

Mortal Kombat 1

The biggest revamp in Mortal Kombat history took place in this year's release, as Mortal Kombat 1 is best known as the reset to the franchise's universe, no longer following the numbering since its original timeline. In what was supposedly Mortal Kombat 12, NetherRealm and WB Games decided to debut a series refresh for the game, promising new experiences available here.

One of the main features of Mortal Kombat 1 is its post-launch support, and this is massive for games like this, especially one that centers on a short storyline campaign and more on PvP, PvE, and online fighting matches.

Moreover, Ed Boon has remained vocal about what is coming to Mortal Kombat 1, including the characters, DLCs, and other additional features.

MK1 is now available on all the platforms that it is promised to by the developers, and recently updated the Nintendo Switch port after a not-so-good release. However, Krossplay is also coming, but gamers have to wait until February 2024 for the experience, with the feature also available to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and the PC platforms only.
