AI Agent of LG

This AI agent reflects LG's vision of having a "Zero Labor Home," offering users an all-encompassing home manager and companion with advanced robotic, AI, and multi-modal technologies.

The distinctive feature of LG's smart home AI assistant is its "two-legged" wheel design, allowing it to navigate the home independently. With articulated leg joints, the intelligent device can verbally interact with users and express emotions through movements.

The AI assistant can also understand context and intentions and actively engage in complex conversations thanks to its multi-modal AI technology that combines voice and image recognition with natural language processing.

According to LG, the AI agent serves as a central hub for smart home operations, establishing connections and managing various smart home appliances and IoT devices.

In partnership with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., the AI agent integrates the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 Platform, enabling on-device AI functionalities like facial and user recognition.

With its array of features, including a camera, speaker, and diverse sensors, it can function as a pet monitor and security system, allowing remote monitoring and issuing alerts for any unusual event.

AI Agent Can Conduct Home Patrolling

Furthermore, the AI agent can conduct autonomous home patrolling, sending notifications for open windows or lights left on. Additionally, it contributes to energy conservation by connecting with smart outlets to turn off unused devices.

Upon the user's return, the AI agent greets them, assesses emotions through voice and facial expression analysis, and selects content to suit their mood. It can also assist in daily activities by providing transportation details, weather updates, schedules, or medication reminders.

With its active hub features, LG envisions the smart home AI agent as a tool to alleviate users with household chores. The company aims to position itself as a significant player in the smart home market.

"Our groundbreaking smart home AI agent combines cutting-edge autonomous mobility and AI technologies with advanced communication capabilities and services to help free customers from household chores," Lyu Jae-cheol, president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, said in the statement.

"A smart life solution company, LG will continue to help customers experience a smarter, more enjoyable life at home," he added.

LG will unveil its new products at the CES 2024, which will happen from January 9 to 12. Among them are a transparent antenna for cars and the world's first 4K OLED gaming monitor with a dual-HZ feature
