CD Projekt Red 'Not Interested' in Any Buyout

Addressing persistent speculations, Kiciński asserted, "These are just rumors. We are not interested in being included in any larger entity."

Emphasizing their lifelong dedication to establishing their current position, he underlined the company's belief in future expansion and resilience, expressing unwavering passion for their work and an ambitious roadmap ahead.

"We are not interested in being included in any larger entity. We have worked our whole lives to get to the position we have now. And we believe that in a few years we will be even bigger and stronger. We have ambitious plans and we are passionate about what we do."

"We value our independence," he added, echoing the sentiment of the company's entire ethos.

Moreover, Kiciński clarified that the company has no intention of pursuing any acquisitions itself. While remaining open to strategic ideas aligning with their vision, CD Projekt Red remains resolute in avoiding purchases solely to consolidate financial results.

The focus remains on driving their strategy forward without compromising on their distinct identity or diluting their creative pursuits.

Recent Shifts in the Gaming Industry

This resounding declaration comes amidst increasing acquisitions within the gaming industry. While giants like Microsoft, Activision Blizzard, and Embracer Group have flexed their financial muscles in acquiring studios, CD Projekt Red stands firm, carving its niche as a proudly independent entity.

This persistent stance provides a refreshing contrast to the prevailing pattern of corporate consolidation that risks homogenizing the industry landscape.

The significance of this commitment to autonomy extends beyond the corporate realm. It offers assurance to fans eagerly anticipating future releases, notably The Witcher 4.

The statement implies that CD Projekt Red remains dedicated to preserving the essence of their creations, assuaging concerns about potential external influences that could compromise the integrity of their games.

CD Projekt RED recently reported record quarters, fueled by the expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, Phantom Liberty. Following a challenging launch in 2020, this expansion was met with positive reviews and hype.
