The lineup for CES 2024 is also stated to include the company's first PBV or Platform Beyond Vehicle, described by Kia as a mobility solution that combines innovative software solutions with well-suited electric vehicles to provide new opportunities for companies and lifestyles. Kia's PBV is expected to go into mass production in 2025.

Kia's Platform Beyond Vehicle

Kia is expected to give importance to its PBV as the report states that a variety of PBV technologies will be featured with a presentation and demonstration highlighting the company's software-defined vehicle strategy and partnership integration plans.

A number of keynote speakers will also reportedly discuss the brand's future PBV business strategies and vision, covering topics such as digital solutions created using the advanced software capabilities of the Hyundai Motor Group, plans for global partnership integration, and specialized hardware like Easy Swap and Dynamic Hybrid modularization technologies.

Engadget states that this announcement follows after seeing the automaker, over the past year or two, hinting at some of its electric vehicle goals such as previously offering test drives in its seven-seater, capacious freight EV9 concept. Kia also reportedly released further information on the EV3, EV4, and EV5 last October.

Engadget implies that at least one of these EVs will soon be available for the general public to use.

Kia and Hyundai on CES 2024

Kia's co-owner, Hyundai, will undoubtedly also be part of the tech trade show. Hyundai has also reportedly given some indication of the topics it plans to highlight at CES 2024. The carmaker, as per a separate Engadget report, reportedly promises to release a blueprint outlining its plans for an ecosystem powered by hydrogen. Hyundai believes that, among other things, showcasing a modular hydrogen toolbox will aid in creating a clean hydrogen value chain.

Kia and Hyundai will also reportedly improve connection between residential and mobility areas, as it announced last January 3 that the carmakers had inked a Car-to-Home and Home-to-Car service collaboration agreement with Samsung Electronics.

Customers of Hyundai and Kia will reportedly be able to use touch and voice commands to remotely operate digital appliances via their vehicles' infotainment systems. On the other hand, customers will be able to operate a variety of car features remotely through AI speakers, TVs, and smartphone applications.
