OnePlus's brightness algorithm will ensure that your eyes won't get even after hours of screen time. Simply put, it allows users to explore the most comfortable display settings for them.

Our daily lives involve prolonged screen exposure, contributing to eye strain and discomfort. The prevalence of flickering screens exacerbates this issue, with OLED displays resorting to Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for brightness adjustments. OnePlus acknowledges this growing concern and endeavors to address it comprehensively.

Unlike its counterparts in the premium smartphone segment, the OnePlus 12 takes a distinct approach to display technology, according to Android Central.

Partnering with BOE, it boasts a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, customized for optimal sunlight readability.

OnePlus President Kinder Liu highlights the incorporation of the first-generation display chip, Display P1, and a custom sunlight high-brightness algorithm. This unique algorithm aims to balance extreme brightness with user comfort, going beyond the industry's current standards.

Customizable Dimming Methods for User Comfort

OnePlus gives a new meaning to the anti-flicker technology with the OnePlus 12's "ultra anti-flicker" mode. Unlike traditional methods that solely rely on PWM, OnePlus introduces a dynamic approach.

Users can choose from various dimming methods, such as "DC-like dimming," offering flexibility and comfort. This adaptive approach minimizes eye dryness, decreases visual fatigue, and enhances overall visual comfort.

OnePlus is Relying on Science This Time

OnePlus breaks away from the industry norm by actively engaging in scientific research to optimize display settings. Collaborating with academic institutions and experts, the smartphone maker seeks to provide users with a range of display options.

Liu reveals significant findings, indicating a remarkable 32% reduction in eye dryness, a 19% decrease in visual fatigue, and an overall 16% improvement in visual comfort.

Aside from that, OnePlus also collaborates with TÜV Rheinland, earning Intelligent Eye Care certification and ensuring adherence to industry safety standards.

Addressing Light Sensitivity and Blue Light Emissions

The OnePlus 12 incorporates BOE's hardware-level low blue light solution, significantly reducing peak blue light emissions to 450nm. This, combined with two color temperature sensors, allows precise adjustment of the display's color temperature for optimal eye comfort.

OnePlus recognizes the impact of color filters on individuals with light sensitivity, emphasizing the device's ability to alleviate discomfort for users facing such challenges.

In a world where light sensitivity affects a growing number of individuals, OnePlus is taking a different path, unlike other phone manufacturers.

As the OnePlus 12 prepares to launch on Jan. 23 at 9:00 am ET, it signifies not just a flagship device but a testament that OnePlus is prioritizing customers' health in the long run.
