Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the demand for Apple's Vision Pro is surpassing initial expectations.

Predictions indicate that shipments in the United States alone are projected to reach between 200,000 to 250,000 units by the end of this year, exceeding Apple's original estimate of 150,000 to 200,000 units.

Reduced Return Rates

Popular tech analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that Apple Vision Pro surprisingly exceeds the Cupertino giant's expectations. Impressively, the return rate of the device now falls below 1%.

Initially, there were concerns about the number of customers purchasing the Vision Pro solely for a trial experience, intending to return it within the 14-day window. However, Kuo reveals in his blog that the current return rate has plummeted to less than 1%. This indicates that consumers are increasingly satisfied with their purchases, demonstrating a solid understanding of the product's features and capabilities.

"Vision Pro shipping time has now improved to 3-5 days (early March). The shipping time after pre-orders opened on 19 January was in early March, meaning that although Vision Pro sold out after pre-orders opened due to early adopters buying it, demand for the device declined rapidly and has stayed the same," Kuo says.

Increased Production and Shipping Efficiency

At the peak of demand, shipping times for the Vision Pro stretched over a month, with some orders placed in mid-January not expected to ship until early March.

However, recent improvements in production efficiency have significantly reduced shipping times to just a few days, according to 9to5Mac. This suggests that Apple's manufacturing capabilities are now aligned with consumer demand.

Will We See Apple Vision Pro in Other Markets?

Encouraged by the strong demand in the US market, Apple has instructed its suppliers to ramp up production to meet the growing needs. Additionally, plans are underway to introduce the Vision Pro to other countries in the near future, indicating Apple's confidence in the product's global appeal.

In a report by MacRumors, the next-gen VR wearable would likely become available to other English-speaking countries, including the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia.

Furthermore, it is expected to cater to other countries like Spain, Germany, France, and Italy when it comes to localized visionOS.

Speculation on Future Models

While the current focus remains on meeting the demand for the Vision Pro, speculation persists regarding the introduction of a more affordable model. However, Kuo's investigations into Apple's supply chain have not uncovered any evidence to suggest that work on a cheaper variant has commenced.

As of now, the iPhone maker seems dedicated to delivering the best possible product experience with the Vision Pro, prioritizing innovation and performance over cost considerations.

Is Apple Vision Pro Better Than Meta Quest 3?

From Mark Zuckerberg's perspective, the Vision Pro is not enough to beat Quest 3. According to the Meta CEO, it's "better, period."

Apple's wearable might be impressive, but it still has much to improve. As such, there were 9 problems present in Vision Pro that The Verge reviewer Nilay Patel said last month.
