The OLED version of the iPad Pro, along with its massive updates for this year may arrive this month from Apple, offering its new take on the renowned tablet with a more impressive display. However, there is a catch, as it was reported that Apple is facing supply issues regarding the 11-inch variant of the OLED iPad Pro, and will drop at a limited supply come its arrival.

Display Supply Chain Consultants' Ross Young shared a post to his subscribers that talked about the possible release of the OLED iPad Pro this month. It centers on both size variants of the devices including the 11-inch and the 12.9-inch versions which would make up this year's iPad Pro releases.

It is expected to feature the M3 chipset from Apple, and the 3nm process from TSMC to power it.

However, the main spotlight from this release is Apple's move towards OLED screens, with both variants featuring the display from LG and Samsung.

11-inch OLED iPad Pro is Limited in Supply

However, it was added by Young that the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro will fall behind the 12.9-inch variant, as LG Displays is already working on the larger variant while it will only start the production of the smaller screen this month. Samsung Display is also tapped by Apple to develop the 11-inch OLEDs for the iPad Pro, but Young noted that it "looks to be behind" the 12.9-inch screens.

This may mean that when it is made available later this month, the 11-inch OLED iPad Pro may be limited in supply, unlike the 12.9-inch ones. However, once LG delivers the 11-inch OLEDs on its end, it is only then would the supplies catch up to the larger device.

Apple's iPad Pro Speculations

There were massive speculations from analysts and insiders regarding Apple's plans to update the iPad Pro, and this year, it may be one of the biggest changes ever for the renowned flagship tablet. This is because it is set to deliver an OLED screen, with others speculating that it would be an AMOLED screen, one that Samsung would manufacture for Apple.

It is believed that Apple's iPad Pro will carry several new features up its sleeves, and not only will it be with the OLED display of the device. One of which is the addition of the MagSafe which will bring wireless charging for the first time for the device, alongside the M3 chip which was introduced last year, featuring the latest iPadOS 17 speculated when it releases.

This year's release, if there would be one, would be the 7th generation of the iPad Pro, with its earlier iterations, the first-gen and the second-gen versions, already considered by Apple as vintage products.

It only means that the iPad Pro will be going onwards and upwards with its new iterations, centering on the OLED screen and M3 chip, coming this March, with the 12.9-inch being widely available and the smaller 11-inch to be limited.
