A new rumor about an upcoming PS5 Pro is causing massive discussion in the industry. Many claim that Sony is set to bring an upgraded version of the console that will fix major issues in its original release.

This Pro version of the PlayStation 5 will deliver significant boosts in gameplay, graphics, and overall performance, featuring familiar technology.

It is not yet a year since Sony released the PlayStation 5 2023, best known as the Slim, but there are already massive rumors behind an upcoming PS5 Pro console.

This would be the latest in Sony's gaming console lineup. It is the fourth variant in the PS5 lineup after the Standard Disc, Digital, and Slim, which are rumored to be coming this 2024 Holiday season.

Sony is best known for releasing an upgraded version of its original console in its mid-cycle, also amidst the middle of the decade, which is the 2020s. CNET reported that it is expected that people would be pushed to buy this console in anticipation or alongside the 2025 arrival of the long-awaited RPG from Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI

What to Expect from PS5 Pro's Technology

PS5 Pro will improve visual graphics and gameplay, and rumors claim that it will feature an 'upscaling' technology powered by artificial intelligence. This would allow the PS5 Pro to boost performance without relying heavily on hardware but on AI, which would deliver a new kind of gaming experience in the industry.

Sony and the PlayStation

Early leaks of the PlayStation 5 in 2019 had many speculators and rumor-mongers claim that it would be a back-to-back release like Apple's iPhones, featuring the base and Pro variants on release. However, this was not the case for Sony's PS5, which was a back-to-back release centering on the Standard Disc version and the PS5's first-ever digital-only release.

Since the dawn of the new PS5 Slim, a.k.a. the PlayStation 5 2023, there have been ramping reports about another Sony console variant, this time with the Pro.

Leakers also considered this to be under the Japanese multimedia company's 'Project Trinity' development, but this report would feature a smaller processor housing a faster system.

For now, all of the information and talks regarding the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro are unconfirmed rumors, as the company avoids any mention of this tech and declines to comment. However, should this console be true, it may arrive as early as the last months of 2024, right in time for the holidays, offering a more significant gaming experience than the previous ones.
