Sony's recent initiative to establish a new production line for PlayStation 5 discs in Brazil is set to give more accessibility to physical media for players across Latin America. With this strategic move, obtaining the PS5 games in physical format will be easier and faster.

This is great news, especially for those who have a hard time hunting for an exclusive game. Some of them even order games overseas since there are only limited sellers of the games in the region.

Sony has good news for LatAm players. A new production line in Brazil will produce physical PS5 games which means more games for more folks.

The venture, reported by VGC, involves the setup of a dedicated production line at Sony's Manaus facilities in collaboration with Solutions 2 Go, an electronics firm.

While the factory has previously manufactured physical PlayStation media for older consoles, this marks the first time it will produce discs for the PS5, despite being three years into the console's lifecycle.

Expanded Game Selection and Accessibility

The new production line will cater to games of sizes up to 100GB, encompassing popular titles like Gran Turismo 7, Demon's Souls, and Final Fantasy 16. By localizing the production of physical media, Sony aims to alleviate the challenges faced by Latin American players in accessing a wide range of PS5 games without resorting to costly imports.

Miguel Cunha, the senior director of PlayStation Latin America, expressed enthusiasm regarding the establishment of the new production line.

"We are excited to share the news that, from now on, PlayStation 5 physical discs of our exclusive and third-party games will be produced in Brazil," Cunha said.

Balancing Digital and Physical Media

While digital content and subscription services like PS Plus are gaining momentum, Sony knows that there are still players who prefer buying physical discs.  Some of them are collectors who value their games for nostalgia while others are third-party sellers who are always searching for potential buyers.

According to TechRadar, the availability of physical discs ensures that gamers in Latin America have access to games in their preferred format, complementing the digital shift in the gaming landscape.

Sony Gears Towards Accessibility

Sony's decision to localize PlayStation 5 disc production in Brazil holds a big importance when it comes to accessibility. Latin American gamers can have wide options in purchasing PS5 games with no hassle and long negotiations with other sellers.

By streamlining the availability of physical media, Sony knows how to play its game well. The facility will address the needs of the players across diverse regions, ensuring an inclusive gaming experience for all.

Recent Leak About PS5 Pro

As we previously reported, the rumored upgrade of PS5 is about to hit the shelves on holidays. PS5 Pro is expected to be available by the time December comes.

To some, this is good since it will give them more time to save money, but for others who can't contain their excitement about this console, it should come right now.

As per IGN's report, some of the leaked specs of PS5 Pro are PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling), a detachable disc drive, AI accelerator, and more.

We never hear a word from Sony until now regarding this console so it's always better to take this report with a grain of salt.
