You are not alone. Instagram is down, and the app's functions, including liking, posting, editing captions, and commenting on posts, are unavailable to access. Some claim that direct messages are not working.

This latest problem comes right after Meta's services experienced an outage last month, centering on Messenger and Instagram apps, which were also unavailable for users.

There are still limited functions on the app, and some are still experiencing issues with it, one that spans globally and many attesting to the bad experience.

Users globally are reporting that Meta's Instagram is down. The problem now follows the two outages on Meta's apps from last month, but only two apps, Instagram and Facebook, have problems.

According to DownDetector's website, Instagram reports peaked at around noon on April 1, with almost 3,000 users claiming they had a problem with the app.

On the other hand, users also report issues with the Facebook login on DownDetector's website, with some claiming that they have not been able to log in to their longtime accounts since last month.

App Functions Unavailable on Instagram

According to Instagram users on DownDetector, the main problem on social media now is access to certain functionalities on the app, such as posting, comments, interactions, and direct messages.

Several users report trouble loading content on their Feeds, and others claim they cannot log in to the app.

Further reports claim that Instagram alerted them about Community Guidelines violations, and when checking the specific page, there are no violations.

Meta has yet to acknowledge the issue and fix Instagram's current problem.

Meta's App Outages

In early March, Facebook, Instagram, and Threads suffered from an outage in the wee morning hours as many users reported down experiences on the apps.

Meta immediately acknowledged the issue, but the fix came much later than the public expected. As many as 77,000 Instagram users reported the incident, and 12,000 people said that Messenger was inaccessible.

However, this was closely followed by an outage less than two weeks ago, and in late March, it saw the second outage in its apps like Facebook, Instagram, and Messenger.

These platforms were down globally, with users saying that their search history was blank, empty Stories appeared, and widespread reports from the United States, United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and more.

Meta acknowledges the issues found on its social media platform and the company is issuing fixes to the problems faced on the app, but the frequency of its outages is concerning users.

For now, it remains unknown what caused the problem and the fix is not yet here to bring users to their preferred activity online, affecting the photo and video-sharing app of Meta.
