The next-generation iPhone SE 4 is one of the most awaited releases from Apple, especially as the company is known for its two-year delay before releasing a new model.

However, it is still overshadowed by the iPhone 16's popularity and upcoming releases, but it is a device worth checking out once it arrives, as rumor has it that the lineup is being massively revamped.

For two models already, the iPhone SE used the iPhone 8 body and delivered the latest tech, but in this release, the Home Button will bid its goodbye again in favor of the notch.

Reports from different leakers, insiders, and those familiar with its development all claim that there will be an iPhone SE 4 release, but it was said that it would not be coming this year despite the cycle perfectly lining up in 2024.

Instead, it will be by 2025, claimed the rumors.

One of the biggest claims behind the 4th-generation iPhone SE is its design. It will finally leave the iPhone 8 body and move on to the iPhone XR or iPhone 11 body but with only one rear camera lens. Its dimensions will be 147.7 x 71.5 x 7.7 millimeters, larger than the previous version.

With that said, it will no longer have the Touch ID Home Button but will have the swipe gestures, the notch, and the Face ID.

What to Expect from the iPhone SE 4

There are also massive expectations from the iPhone SE 4's performance as it will reportedly upgrade to a more modern chip, particularly with the A17 Bionic chip, a processor that was said to be intended for the iPhone 16 base variants.

Additionally, it will use the USB-C ports, which began with the iPhone 15 series, foregoing the Lightning ports.

It is unknown if it will get an improved 5G technology in this release.

The iPhone SE Lineup

Currently, three models are already under the iPhone SE lineup, and these devices saw far apart release dates, with only two releases having a two-year frequency.

The first iPhone SE was known for using the iPhone 5s body and released the introduction to the lineup back in March 2016, initially thought of as the "iPhone 5se."

It was subsequently followed by the iPhone SE 2, which was released during the early days of the pandemic by April 2020, and it now featured the iPhone 8's body, the round and sleek design of this lineup, with its rear covered by glass.

However, while the iPhone SE 3 reused the iPhone 8 body, it was given the A15 Bionic Chip and 5G when it arrived last March 2022, with other improvements also included for the camera and more.

There were fears that the iPhone SE 4 would be discontinued as the previous gen did not see a massive demand, but there are still massive expectations behind the device, especially now that two years have passed.

The only caveat for the iPhone SE 4 now is its release date, which is expected not until 2025. This means that it will yet again break the cycle but is not necessarily canceled by the company.
