A new gaming venture emerges in the realm of Middle-earth, as Private Division, a publishing arm of Take-Two Interactive Software, collaborates with Wētā Workshop, famed for their contributions to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy, to unveil "Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game."
This Hobbit life simulator invites players into the landscapes of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth universe.
Tales of the Shire: The Lord of the Rings Game
Developed by Wētā Workshop Game Studio, a subsidiary of Wētā Workshop, the game will debut in the latter half of 2024 on the Nintendo Switch system, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
"In Tales of the Shire, experience the storybook return to Middle-earth's most inviting region by living life as a Hobbit in the idyllic town of Bywater.
Unwind in the breathtaking pastures, visit the townsfolk's local shops, or even enjoy a second breakfast. Help bring the community together and achieve official village status by throwing the greatest Bywater Festival the Shire has ever seen!" the official game announcement reads.
Kelly Tyson, Head of Product at Wētā Workshop, expressed excitement about offering players the chance to fulfill their dream of leading a humble Hobbit life in the Shire.
The game promises a fresh perspective on Middle-earth, providing Hobbit-centric gameplay to captivate newcomers and seasoned fans.
How the Middle-Earth Game Works
Players can craft and personalize their Hobbit avatars, tailoring their appearance to fit within the famous Middle-earth universe.
After settling into a cozy Hobbit home, complete with customizable furniture and decor, players can venture outdoors to engage in various leisurely pursuits, such as cooking, fishing, foraging, and gardening.
