Nothing, the UK-based smartphone manufacturer, has officially confirmed a 2022 data breach that compromised 2,250 members after several users recently discovered personal information being leaked on a database seen on X.

On Sunday, April 21, a few users of X (previously Twitter) reported seeing personal information associated with Nothing Community accounts on an online database, which brought attention to the matter.

Most data in the dump, such as usernames from Nothing Community, was previously accessible to the general public. On Nothing Community, user emails are private, yet they were also compromised.

Prudential Financial Confirms Hackers Steal Employee, Contractor Data in Recent Breach

(Photo: Clint Patterson from Unsplash) Last week, Prudential Financial suffered a cyberattack and learned that the hackers compromised its systems one day earlier. The investigation into the data theft incident is currently ongoing.

The posts were initially blurred before being completely deleted to prevent hostile actors from exploiting the publicly available data in the database.

Android Authority found and confirmed the database's existence, stating that there was no evidence of a compromise in the user account password. Along with user data, official emails belonging to Nothing employees were also discovered in the online database.

According to reports, the incident happened in December 2022 and affected email accounts that belonged to people in the neighborhood at the time.

Fortunately, Nothing guarantees that payment information, passwords, names, or personal addresses were not stolen.

The company claims that almost a year and a half ago, after this revelation, it immediately addressed the issue and strengthened its security measures.

Nothing Data Breach Extent

The extent of the Nothing Community leak seems to be somewhat limited in terms of data breaches. Other than an increase in spam emails, users of Nothing Community won't probably see any significant effects from the incident.

Interestingly, it doesn't seem that Anything tried to contact the impacted consumers to let them know that their email addresses might have been compromised.

However, it did make secret internal adjustments to safeguard consumer data moving forward.

Nothing Phone 3

On a related note, rumors have started circulating about the next flagship model from the smartphone manufacturer. There are rumors that the potent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 CPU may be included in the Nothing Phone 3.

This chipset, engineered for outstanding performance, is intended to improve gaming, photography, and AI capabilities.

The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 boasts outstanding core configurations and state-of-the-art 4nm technology, which should deliver top-notch performance. This chipset, engineered for outstanding performance, is intended to improve gaming, photography, and AI capabilities.

In India, the pricing range is reportedly between ₹40,000 and ₹45,000, or around $480 and $540.

Compared to its predecessors and other smartphones available on the market, the Nothing Phone 3 is in a competitive segment.
