The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the next big installment in the franchise, and from all indications, it could turn out to be a great game. However, folks who are planning to purchase this beautiful title should be warned that the install size is massive.

From what we've come to understand, PC gamers will have a much easier experience since The Witcher 3's size is 40GB. Most PC gamers will be purchasing the title via Steam, so it is going to be a pain to download 40GB worth of content especially for persons with slow broadband connection. Those with super-fast Internet speed that makes even the Flash cry with envy should feel right at home.

When it comes down to the console version of the game, it is being reported that PlayStation 4 owners will have to reserve over 50GB on their hard drives to play the game. That is a lot of space for a single title, especially when one take into consideration that most PS4 owners only have a 500GB drive, which is likely almost full by now.

Many gamers will now be forced to sit for hours trying to pick which game they would have to delete, and whether or not they should just go out and get a larger drive. We'd recommend getting 1 terabyte or more hard drive because The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is not the only title with a 50GB size, and it will not be the last.

What about the Xbox One version of The Witcher 3?

Take a breather there young lads and lasses. No one knows the size of the Xbox One version of the game. Xbox One fans will just have to wait a little longer because it should not take long now that the PS4 install size has been revealed.

If we were to guess, we'd suspect The Witcher 3 on the Xbox One would have a similar install size to the PlayStation 4 if both titles are of the same quality. We know the PS4 version will be running at 1080p and 30fps, and the Xbox One version at 900p and 30fps. However, CD Projekt Red did state that the Xbox One version could have a resolution change before launch.
