Showing that they can protect and serve the public all at the same time, cops in Oswego, Illinois went the extra mile and delivered a box of hot pizza to a very surprised customer after arresting the delivery boy and his friend. The incident was posted on the Oswego Police Facebook page which has earned praise for both the Police Force and the officers who delivered the pizza instead of letting it go to waste.

According to reports, the pizza delivery car was stopped by cops at 8:45 p.m. on Sunday night for going through a parking lot near Chicago Avenue and Garfield Street in order to avoid a red light. But upon inspecting the vehicle, officers found drug paraphernalia and arrested both 19-year olds Nicholas Parello and Dakota Albright of Aurora.

The pair was taken into custody and when the officers noticed that the receipt for the pizza that was enroute to being delivered was already paid for and just a few blocks away from the station, they decided to bring it on over themselves to a very, very bewildered resident.

"A confused resident accepted the pizza, and was very glad that the police were there to deliver the pizza, rather than talk to them," the Police posted on Facebook about the pizza deliver escapade.

According to Police Chief Jeff Burgner, it's all part of their job.

"We try to do all we can to help our residents, but I think this is the first time we've delivered a pizza," he said.

Burgner said he is also happy with the positive light the story has been putting on the police department, showing residents the human side of law enforcement through the uplifting stories, such as this, which they share on their Facebook page for community involvement.

Meanwhile, police said that the pair who was arrested on pot-related charges has been released after they each posted personal recognizance bonds.
