Entrepreneur and innovator Boris Lebowski breathes life into ventures across industries, having spearheaded start-ups and inventions that have proved to have a lasting impact. The company he founded, Sergata Mobile, grew from a three-person start-up to a team of 30, leading to its acquisition by Zemingo Group. He also led the development of a life support medical device for Art Medical and directed the creation of a pioneering web3 gaming infrastructure and Play-and-Earn game, which has rapidly gained a large user base.
He is currently leading Rarecraft as CEO and founder. This is a company revolutionising art authentication and ownership using blockchain technology to combat theft and fraud in the art market.
Boris's take on his work is this: to use technology to create a meaningful impact.
A Unique Journey Marked by Success After Success
Boris's career path is unique, and it is difficult to put him and his achievements into a single box. Through his work, he has delved into numerous industries, which he says have given him perspective and insight to drive development and innovation further. His diverse background has spanned being a start-up advisory, advising and innovating in the healthcare industry, app development, and revolutionising the use of blockchain to safeguard authenticity.
He wants to continue to dream big and then implement his creative ideas to leverage industries through technology.
"What makes my story unique is my consistent ability to anticipate technological shifts before they become mainstream," he says. In this way, Boris has positioned himself at the forefront of innovation.
For him, this lifelong passion for technology and innovation began when he received a book on C++, a programming language, as a kid. He realised the potential then that technology had, and he started to conceive of the ideas which would later put him on the map.
Multiple Passions Converge through Blockchain
Boris says that learning about blockchain was a pivotal moment in his career. He said that when blockchain technology emerged, he immediately recognised its potential to solve one of the art world's most persistent problems: fraud. "My background in technology combined with my passion for art gave me a unique perspective on how digital ownership could revolutionise how we verify, trade, and appreciate creative works."
He said that as a lifelong art collector and digital native, he had always been fascinated by provenance: the documented history that validates a piece's authenticity and value.
A Thought Leader in Innovation and Entrepreneurship
While Boris has, for the most part, kept a low profile, he has established himself as a thought leader within specialised tech and business circles.
"I've successfully provided strategic guidance to numerous entrepreneurs and established companies navigating blockchain integration," he says.
For him, success has been about going beyond 'talking about' ideas and innovations, to actually creating them, and giving them practical use to impact industries, and invariably, the economy. "My advisory work spans from technical implementation to business model innovation, helping bridge the gap between theoretical blockchain potential and practical commercial applications."
The practical uses of Rarecraft's blockchain platform are numerous. The technology will take art authentication to the next level through immutable provenance records, secure tracking, and energy-efficient technology.
"As AI-generated forgeries become indistinguishable from authentic works, our verification system establishes verifiable creation records that protect artists' intellectual property and market value against this emerging digital threat," says Boris.
He believes blockchain technology has real-world potential and says a significant challenge for him has been combating the 'it's just crypto' dismissal from skeptics who fail to distinguish between speculative cryptocurrency trading and the transformative potential of underlying blockchain technology.
"I've addressed this by focusing conversations on specific business problems and demonstrating concrete solutions rather than getting caught in abstract debates about the technology itself."
Boris's ultimate ambition is to help manifest extraordinary objects that represent the perfect synthesis of human creative spirit and technological innovation—pieces that couldn't exist without both elements.
Through these efforts, he hopes to help shape a future where technology doesn't diminish the mystery and emotion of human creativity, but rather enhances our connection to it and ensures its authenticity for generations to come.
