Epic Games held a new survey on what theme would be the next one coming to "Fortnite" for when Chapter 7 Season 2 arrives, and its choices have dropped a huge hint on the potential one coming to the game.
Based on speculations, the next theme in "Fortnite's" Chapter 7 Season 2 would center around a mythological representation again, similar to a previous experience.
It has already been a year since "Fortnite" brought the world back to Ancient Greece with Chapter 5 Season 2's "Myths and Mortals," best known for featuring Greek mythology in the game, particularly several gods and goddesses.
'Fortnite' Chapter 7 Season 2 Survey Hints on Theme
The latest survey from Epic Games has reportedly dropped a significant hint on what would be the next theme the game is adopting for its upcoming Chapter 7 Season 2.
According to a prolific "Fortnite" leaker HYPEX, it will be "100% NORSE/NORDIC THEMED," especially with what the latest survey previewed for players in terms of cosmetics.
As noted by the leaker, the concept skins shared by Epic Games featured "almost all" of the cosmetics on specific characters that feature a touch of Norse mythology or Nordic culture. Despite the survey asking the players for their opinion, the leaker noted that Epic Games leaned heavily towards featuring Norse mythology amongst the visuals it shared.
While there were no specifics, one of the images shared by HYPEX features a bipedal wolf-like character who appears to have broken out of chains, and in Nordic mythology, it only points out one creature. This specific character is Fenrir, a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology that is also a key figure in the mythology's Ragnarok, where it breaks free of its chain and kills the All-father, Odin.
No other key figures in Norse mythology were revealed by the leaker, including figures like Thor, the god of Thunder; Loki, the god of mischief; Odin, the All-father; and other iconic characters.
Is 'Fortnite' Returning to Mythology?
According to GameRant, there is still no official word from Epic Games regarding what will be "Fortnite" Chapter 7 Season 2's theme, specifically as it is still asking its players via the survey. That being said, this is what the leaker is leaning on as there is plenty of evidence showing off the game's inclination towards Norse mythology, but nothing has been confirmed.
It is important to note that Epic Games already brought a significant focus to specific mythology as the theme for a new chapter/season, particularly in last year's "Fortnite" Chapter 5 Season 2, which centered on Greek mythology.
"Fortnite" likewise featured a key character in both Greek and Norse mythology last year with the return of Kratos, the character from the "God of War" series.
It has been unconfirmed as of press time if Kratos will also return for this potential Norse mythology-themed season, as well as if Epic Games will adopt the famed mythos for its battle royale game.
