Entrepreneur and BBC television presenter James Blake is officially launching VirtuSign®, an AI-powered platform designed to transform how businesses create, manage, and sign documents—replacing outdated templates and bloated workflows with fast, intelligent tools built for modern teams.

While Blake, originally from Northern Ireland, has recently become a familiar face across British television thanks to his award-winning BBC One and Three documentaries, his move into the software space doesn't come as a surprise to those who know his background.

Before ever appearing on screen, Blake founded a successful online marketing business in his early 20s, which remains operational today.

"I've been working in the digital space since I was 16," said Blake. "More and more people know me from TV these days, but long before that, I was building businesses online. The idea for VirtuSign® came from my own personal frustration."

In 2023, whilst supporting one of his marketing team on a clunky template document, Blake missed a flight while trying to finalise a document on the go. That moment became the catalyst for building a better solution.

"I was using AI tools off-platform just to patch together basic documents. It was slow, clunky, and inefficient. I realised there had to be a smarter way to do it—and that's how VirtuSign was born."

"I realised I was using AI tools off-platform just to fix broken templates—constantly prompt- engineering, switching apps, reformatting files. It was chaos. I figured there had to be a better way... so we built it. I actually coined the brand name, VirtuSign whilst I was in the air on the plane!" said Blake.

VirtuSign® combines natural language AI with jurisdiction-aware templates, real-time collaboration, and secure e-signing—all wrapped in an interface designed to be usable by absolutely anyone of any tech ability, not just legal teams or tech-savvy founders.

Built for UK Businesses, Ready to Scale

Following a successful beta in 2024 and an undisclosed six-figure investment round late December of 2024, VirtuSign® is launching publicly this month.

The company is backed by a board of experienced operators and investors, including JohnReynolds, a respected figure in finance and tech who currently chairs and advises several high-growth ventures.

His focus now shifts to the growth of VirtuSign following a successful exit of his asset management firm, Alpha Beta Partners, to TAVISTOCK INVESTMENTS PLC for a documented sum of £18M.

The platform's key users range from freelancers and startups to agencies and SMEs—all with one thing in common: they're done wasting time wrestling with generic templates and slow approval chains.

"We're targeting the kind of businesses that move fast whilst needing their documents to keep up," added Blake. "You shouldn't need a legal degree or a three-day turnaround to send a clean contract. You also shouldn't be battling outdated contract templates whilst jumping from platform to platform to create and complete."
