'Resident Evil Requiem' Fan Theory Confirmed by Devs

The latest interview with "Resident Evil Requiem" producer Masato Kumazawa via Well Played reveals interesting information behind the upcoming mainline title from Capcom coming next year.

The interview addressed the many fan theories claiming that some of the most iconic main characters in the past, particularly Leon S. Kennedy, would be returning to bring a massive impact to the game.

According to Kumazawa, there are indeed various characters from the past "Resident Evil" games that would be returning to reprise their roles in the upcoming "Requiem" game. However, the producer said that they cannot promise fans and players anything about who the specific characters will be.

That said, players may expect that people involved in the infamous Raccoon City incident, which significantly transformed the lives of its residents and the different characters, would be returning.

It is important to note that the main character of the game is Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of investigative journalist Alyssa Ashcroft.

Previously, Kumazawa claimed that "Resident Evil Requiem" would be a "remembrance" for all the people lost during the original incident that kick-started the franchise.

Will Returning Characters Play a Huge Role?

There were previous leaks that focused on Leon S. Kennedy's role in the game, especially as it was speculated that he would serve as the main character of this next mainline release.

The developers did say that Kennedy was supposedly the main character of the ninth mainline installment. According to the devs, they are looking to bring back the horror focus of the game and putting Leon as the main character would defeat this purpose.
