'PUBG: Battlegrounds' Finally Gets Prop Hunt Mode, But There's a Catch

'PUBG' is taking a page from 'Call of Duty' with this mode.

"PUBG: Battlegrounds" finally gets one of the most iconic game modes among action-shooter games with the new "Prop Hunt" mode, which is best known for its simple yet thrilling gameplay.

If this game mode sounds familiar, it is because Activision and its partner developers previously made it available to "Call of Duty" games in the past, including the likes of "Modern Warfare," "Black Ops," and more.

'PUBG: Battlegrounds' Adds Prop Hunt Mode

PUBG Studios announced the latest update to their game "PUBG: Battlegrounds," which brings one of the most famous game modes in the action shooter industry know as "Prop Hunt." This specific game mode adopts almost the same experiences as other prop hunt modes in other games, with players getting the chance to either be Hunters or Props, centering on a hide-and-seek thriller.

The new game mode will be available under Arcade alongside other modes.

One match under Prop Hunt will have 12 players, featuring 9 players as Props and 3 as Hunters. Each round, players will get to choose their preferred role of being a Hunter or Prop, but the game will automatically balance them out should one side see many players choosing it.

During the preparation phase, Props will get a temporary boost and extra time to hide themselves across the maps, and they also get various abilities, including Decoy, Stun-Gun, Prop Switch, and more, to survive. Hunters will be confined in a space that blocks the view during this phase.

Hunters will get penalized if they shoot at anything other than a Prop with HP deductions, but come Fever Time, they will get more weapons and fewer penalties.

There's a Catch on 'PUBG's' Prop Hunt

As exciting as Prop Hunt is on "PUBG: Battlegrounds," there is a catch with the new game mode as it will only be available for a limited time.

According to PUBG Studios' announcement, the Prop Hunt mode is available from Tuesday, March 31, to next Tuesday, April 7.

Players will get to enjoy Prop Hunt via the different maps available on "PUBG: Battlegrounds," including Miramar, Rono, and Vikendi.
