'Resident Evil Requiem' Secret Character: Who Is Tofu and How Do You Find Him?

This spoiler-free guide will help you find Requiem's secret, Tofu.

Resident Evil Requiem

"Resident Evil Requiem" is a nod to all the events, people that were lost, and sacrifices that have been made by the franchise's characters over the years, said Capcom.

With this, they are also giving fans something to look forward to in the game that is not part of the story, something that long-time fans may immediately recognize upon seeing.

This is because the now-not-so-secret character of the game, Tofu, is something to unlock for "Resident Evil" fans, and he is available right in the RCP building.

Tofu may be hiding in plain sight when exploring the building, and if something feels eerily off, then you may be on the first step toward locating this iconic secret character.

Who Is 'Requiem's' Secret Character, Tofu?

First, "Resident Evil 2" fans may immediately recognize the name, particularly as Tofu first appeared via the secret unlockable mode in the original game. In this secret mode called "The Tofu Survivor," players could run around the game as the blocky, processed bean curd only armed with a knife.

While Tofu has been around since "Resident Evil 2," Capcom also included the iconic secret character in the "RE2" Remake released in 2019.

How to Find Tofu in 'RE: Requiem'

It is important to note that Tofu appears in the RCP building, but it requires players to clear the area completely and move on slightly before coming back to find it.

The exact time to return is when you leave the police station, fight the Tyrant, and defeat the infected boss. Instead of progressing in the story and going to the Orphanage, head on over to the RCP building, go to the lower floor, and look at three windows.

Tofu will only appear behind these three windows, but it will do so randomly. The first one is near the Operations Room, the next one is near Reception, and the last one is at the end of the corridor to the left.

If Tofu does not appear in the said windows, run back and forth until you catch the iconic bean curd. There will also be a special sound that will play when Tofu appears, so it's best to keep the volume on high.

What Makes Tofu Relevant in the Game?

In terms of story progression, Tofu does not change anything. According to Capcom, they only added Tofu purely for fun as a nod to the previous secret game modes.

Players may shoot the special character to get a reaction, but it does not connect to any other Easter eggs, challenges, or puzzles in the game.
