A new report reveals that Meta has massive plans to deliver new smart glasses throughout 2026, with the company now working on new wearable technologies.

As many as four new smart glasses are reportedly planned to be released by the company throughout the rest of the year. If accurate, this makes for the biggest release done Meta for its smart glasses product compared to previous years.

Meta Is Working on New Smart Glasses

The Information has shared a new report that Meta is working on multiple smart glasses developments, with as many as four new wearables expected to arrive this year from the company. It has not been revealed which of these smart glasses is made with its long-time partner, EssilorLuxottica, which is best known for owning both Ray-Ban and Oakley.

The earliest development is said to be the device that is codenamed "Modelo," and according to The Information, this specific smart glasses device is slated for a release date within this month.

Next, there are the models that are expected to arrive by the fall season, namely the wearable codenamed "Luna," which is a fairly new device in the lineup, and then the "RBM2 Refresh."

If the initials of the latter device sound familiar, it is because it is expected to be a refresh of the Ray-Ban Meta's second-generation smart glasses. However, it remains unknown why it is not being referred to as the third generation of the product.

Lastly, there is another unknown new smart glasses development from Meta, which got a "Mojito VIP" codename and is expected to arrive by December, as per the latest report.

Meta's New Smart Glasses Are All Slated For 2026

According to 9to5Google, The Information said that all of these smart glasses developments are expected to arrive this year, with Meta making its release of these wearable form factors an annual affair.

Last year, Meta unveiled its new smart glasses developments, namely the Oakley HSTN smart glasses and the Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, which were debuted during its Meta Connect event that took place in early fall.

This year, Meta will hold another Meta Connect 2026 event that is already scheduled for September 23 to 24, which is only several days late compared to last year's.

Putting two and two together, there are two rumored smart glasses from The Information's report that are slated to arrive by the fall season and one for December. There is a possibility that these devices may be introduced during the Connect 2026 event.
