Jensen Huang and NVIDIA have recently unveiled the roadmap of the company's RTX Spark processors, which confirmed that it is not a one-and-done release and that there are massive plans for it in the future.
There are two new chip series that NVIDIA revealed via this roadmap, and these are the N2X and the N3 series that are already lined up for a release in the coming decade.
NVIDIA Unveils RTX Spark Roadmap, Future Chips
Tom's Guide recently asked NVIDIA CEO and Co-Founder Jensen Huang questions about the future of the new RTX Spark chips, and the executive revealed the company's plans for it, as well as its first official roadmap.
According to Huang, the latest RTX Spark will be succeeded by new chips in the future under the lineup, with this new N1X (the internal codename of the present-gen processor) seeing next-gen iterations.
Huang further explained the company already has two chips planned in the future, and he also revealed that the N1X is not the sole processor in its lineup as there is a smaller version called the "N1."
Digital Trends reported that this claim from Huang suggests that another processor is in the pipeline with this unreleased N1 chip, and it could be released shortly by NVIDIA.
Huang confirmed that expansion is a massive plan of the company for the processor's future. It is important to note that NVIDIA has yet to release these chips in the market. Their partner brands, which include the likes of Microsoft, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and more, still have not debuted the PCs equipped with the processor.
Introducing the N2X and N3 Series Silicon Chips
According to Huang during the recent Q&A session, the "N2X and N3 are already planned," and this officially reveals the next-generation chips that will follow the two early-gen models, N1X and N1.
However, there is still no specific information or specs shared by Huang during the interview, considering that the original RTX Spark chips have yet to debut in the market.
As per Digital Trends, the existence of three chips in the company's roadmap almost guarantees that the product itself will see a run of as long as 10 years in the market.
It should be noted, however, that roadmaps could still be altered by the company. In some case, some products already in the road map ended up being canceled, such as the recent reports regarding Apple's Vision lineup.
