With the Mobile World Congress 2015 knocking at the doorstep, the grapevine is inundated with leaks of the impending Samsung smartphones: the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The smartphones have now been pictured side by side, giving us more glimpses of what we can expect from Samsung.

The current leak is courtesy of an xda-developer member who posted the pictures on the forum. The leaked images suggest that the Galaxy S6 Edge will tout a curved screen, similar to the one sported by Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge. However, the angle from which the photograph was taken does not make this feature too apparent.

The xda-developer initially shared two images that showed the front and rear of the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge side by side.

These images bear testament to the speculation that Samsung will release two variants of its flagship smartphone, which is the successor of the Galaxy S5. The pictures also hint that Samsung has dropped the removable battery and microSD slot, which are synonymous with its top-end smartphones. While the non-removable battery may not upset users, Samsung giving the expandable memory option a miss definitely will.

The images also purport that unlike the displays on the Galaxy Note Edge, the Edge displays on the Galaxy S6 Edge aren't segregated from the prime screen. A possibility exists that the manner in which the Edge displays will be deployed could be different, and they may work individually when required.

Samsung, it seems, would pull a blinder if this is true and bring a dual-edge feature that no one was expecting the Galaxy S6 to tout.

The rear images, however, don't show a marked difference in the Samsung phones.

The leakster "reefur" also posted three more images of the Samsung smartphones and claimed that they are the real deal. The poster even managed to boot one of the smartphones and left the other one alone.

"Definitely glass back, feels solid as heck, runs android 5.0.2., no more finger swipe, just press like iPhone/iPad," reported reefur on the xda-developer forum. The poster also revealed that the pictures don't do the smartphones justice.

With the MWC only days away, we can only wait for the drama to unfold!
