Between the day Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005 and The Force Awakens hits movie theaters in December, a lot of time has passed. Let the droids help you brush up on the galaxy far, far away with Lego Star Wars: Droid Tales.

An animated take on the six Star Wars movies, Droid Tales will be split into five episodes, each 22 minutes long. Air dates have not been released by Disney but they should come out well before Episode VII is shown. After all, the series is meant to give an overview of what has happened thus far. More than just being a cartoon catch-up, Droid Tales will be told from the point of view of the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.

In Lego.

If the Lego Movie proved anything, it is that movies made out of Legos are extremely entertaining. Not that this is the first time Legos are being used in a Star Wars-related series. The Yoda Chronicles, anyone? Cartoon Network has also aired some Lego specials.

There's still no news on who will be directing and writing the five episodes for Droid Tales but Michael Price, the guy who penned The Yoda Chronicles, has been reported to be on board with the new project.

Droid Tales starts out with the Rebel Alliance reveling in their victory on Endor like it was seen at the ending of Return of the Jedi. The droids reminisce with familiar faces about all the adventures they've had so far but are interrupted by an accidental kidnapping that leads to an all-new adventure. As this adventure unfolds, the retelling of the Star Wars saga begins in chronological order, starting with The Phantom Menace.

While this is not the order the Star Wars movies were originally released in, a chronological order eases the retelling along, which those just getting started with the saga might find convenient.

The first Star Wars set for Lego came out in 1999 and since then fans have turned to their bricks to create their own versions of the timeless story.

"‘LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales' gives us an opportunity to share highlights of the Star Wars story with a sense of humor and excitement that can only be conveyed through the LEGO brick, and will be a fun resource for families as they gear up for the next movie," explained Jill Wilfert, licensing and entertainment vice president for The LEGO Group.

The Force Awakens opens Dec. 18.
