A Star Wars-themed wedding sounds awesome, but it's difficult to execute in a way that's not going to make you cringe as you look at photos of your wedding on your 20th anniversary.

That wasn't the case for Los Angeles-based couple Jennifer and Joshua, who threw totally rad and completely elegant Star Wars-themed nuptials in September 2014. The wedding included several winks and nods to the beloved franchise, such as flower girls with Princess Leia buns in their hair, a cake with an actually romantic Wampa and Tauntaun topper and even a couple of actual stormtroopers to escort guests to their seats for the ceremony.

Here's how Jennifer described the wedding to the blog Green Wedding Shoes:

"From the moment we started planning, my now-husband and I decided that we wanted our wedding to be intimate, fun, and a reflection of who we are as a couple. In terms of the details and decor, we tried to create an atmosphere that was whimsical, romantic, and modern. Since I'm a lifelong Star Wars fan, I knew I had to incorporate my fandom into some of the wedding details. The cherry on top for both of us was getting Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion to be a part of the wedding. It was an absolute dream come true!"

You can head over to Green Wedding Shoes to see a bunch of amazing pics of the wedding that will probably have you looking up how to get your hands on your own Millennium Falcon floral sculpture. However, there were a couple of missed opportunities, in my opinion. For one, Jennifer's father could have dressed up as Darth Vader when he walked her down the aisle (he did this later during the reception). And the other thing is Yoda totally should have officiated the wedding. But, you know, he's a busy guy, so his absence is understandable.

If you weren't able to guess this from her Star Wars-themed wedding, Jennifer is a huge fan of this franchise. She has a blog and a YouTube channel where she talks about her love for Star Wars, in addition to other geeky and pop culture things. She also gets crafty, having created Millennium Falcon and Death Star skirts for cosplay at past San Diego Comic Cons. Jennifer even did some DIY-ing herself for the wedding, making a belt for her wedding dress featuring a stormtrooper helmet, for instance, which cost less than $10.

Ah, doesn't it make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that you can throw a Star Wars-themed and not have it go horribly wrong. May the force be with these two forever and ever.
